I didn’t wake up today with that familiar burst of birthday energy like I have in previous years, because this year has been a lot. Life, in all its indifference, showed me time and again that it doesn’t pause for feelings. Things went sideways more times than I can count — and I can only hope it was for the right reasons. Life called my bluff. Over and over, it dared me to quit, to shrink, to disappear. It didn’t care about my profile, my plans, or who I thought I was. The battles intensified, whether or not I was ready. So I found the only solution: a thicker skin. Because let’s be real — if you can’t take the heat, you’re supposed to get out of the kitchen. But my meal is still cooking. And I’m still hungry. So I’m staying right here. I’m not going anywhere. Do I feel giddy today? Honestly, no. I’m tired. Fatigued. A little bruised by life. But I’m also grounded. And growing. The road ahead demands even more resilience — and I’m ready to rise to it. Time to level up, again. This is the year I fully own the truth: _I am mythical!_ ... _I am savvy!_ . I am the sum of everything I’ve allowed to pour into me — from family, to friends, to mentors, to choices made and lessons learned. We keep the energy high, no matter what. Despite it all, I still show up — scars and all — because if you’re going to tell a story worth telling, you have to tell the whole thing. So whatever you want to call this chapter, call it that. As for me? I’m still going to win — because that’s just what I do. Happy Birthday to the greatness that is me — and that I so graciously share with the world. by @_candace3074
