Price Anchoring: Establishing a higher price as the new comparison point.

A company raises the price, and over time consumers begin viewing that higher amount as the “normal” price. This resets the customer’s Reference Price—the amount they expect to pay.

Example: A fast-food meal rises from $8 to $11. After customers repeatedly see $11 meals everywhere, $11 begins to feel normal—EVEN IF THE COMPANY’S COST LATER DECLINE... by @_captain_morgan47
