mother’s day is meant to celebrate the strong, beautiful women in our lives, and i can’t think of a better example than my mom. on this day today, i lost my mom. as much of a heartbreak i feel, i know god is taking care of her and she is cancer free, pain free, and healed. rest in peace mom, i love you and i will see you soon. Dad, this morning you were called home. I’ve been sitting here trying to find the right words, but cannot put my thoughts down. One thing I do know is you were my best friend - and this world will never be the same without you.

You fought for 10 long months with strength, love, positivity, and never an ounce of doubt. You showed up for me from the moment I was brought into this world until now, despite the challenges you’ve gone through. You kept me smiling and showed me what it truly looks like to live out love, joy, peace, patience, kindness - every single day.
You filled a role so unique for two girls. Not only were you the best dad, but after mom passed, you became everything for Emily and me. You showed us a rare kind of love - one built on sacrifice, consistency, patience, and a Christ-like heart.
You fought cancer not once, but twice. You didn’t deserve this, but you never gave up and never complained. You fought past the time doctors expected, because your heart was just that strong.
This last week has been the hardest of my life. But I’m holding onto the promise that I read this week, that God doesn’t just lead us into valleys - He leads us through them.

Dad, you’re home now. You are healed. You are whole. You are no longer suffering. And I have peace knowing you were welcomed with open arms and finally got to hug mama again. I know Heaven is celebrating you today.

We may be hurting down here, but there’s not an ounce of pain in your body anymore-and that’s all I could ever ask for.
