✨The Sibling Loss Journal. Link in bio.✨

I created this journal as a supportive resource for anyone navigating the weight of losing a sibling. It’s a space for truth, integration, and exploring how to carry them forward as you find a way to keep living your life.

I’ve wanted to complete and release this project for a long time. But looking back, I’m glad I waited. When I lost my brother a little over five years ago, the way it shattered my world… there really aren’t words.

For years I struggled to find myself again, to shake the hold grief had on me. More than anything, I struggled with the loneliness. Grief is always isolating, but sibling loss felt especially invisible. The sibling relationship is not something discussed—or valued—as much as it should be in our culture. As a result, sibling loss often goes unacknowledged. Because of this, I have found there are very few resources for this particular kind of loss.

So while it’s taken me years to bring this journal to completion, I trust the timing. I began creating it not long after my brother passed, but I kept revisiting and reworking it as I moved through different seasons of grief. I don’t think it could have become what it is now without that time and space. And it is so that you can have that time and space that I created this journal for you.

This journal is for you, if you’ve lost a sibling. For your memories, your truths, your grief, and the ways you continue to carry them forward.

I truly love creating warm, cozy spaces for sound baths, and this particular one felt very special, being outdoors and surrounded by the beauty of nature and the changing season. šŸ‚

Sound baths use singing bowls (mine here are crystal) that produce vibrations and frequencies that can help calm the nervous system, encourage relaxation, release tension, and create space for emotional processing. It’s a beautiful way to slow down, quiet the mind, and reconnect with yourself.

If you’ve been interested in experiencing a sound bath, feel free to reach out! I offer private bookings for groups and events, so whether you’re looking to host a private gathering, plan a corporate wellness event, or bring a sound bath experience to your apartment community, I’d love to connect.

I’ll be at Pioneer in Everett later this month, providing a sound bath for the residents there! Keep an eye out for future sound bath announcements. ✨

The veil is thinning, and I’m excited to share this one with youšŸ‚

I’ve teamed up with the beautiful @_catchad_ to offer something we’ve both been dreaming about: an evening where cacao & tarot meet.

Cat is a holistic wellness coach, tarot reader, and medium. She has such a grounded, intuitive way of bringing messages through that holding space alongside her feels like such a natural pairing. I’ll guide you through cacao and meditation to open the heart and quiet the mind, and Cat will lead breathwork and help give voice to what your intuition has been whispering all along.

This season asks us to slow down, listen inward, and trust what we already know. We’d love to hold that space for you.

I’m especially excited to offer a class for a population that can sometimes be overlooked in the fitness world, and to create a space where movement and mobility can feel accessible and welcoming. I’m honored to have the opportunity to share yoga in this way, and I can’t wait to see you there!

If you know me well you know these last 6 years have asked and taken a lot of me. If you don’t, well girl let me fricken tell you 🤣

The last six years have felt like one thing after another being stripped from my life. But the more I’ve leaned into the times when I THOUGHT I was losing something, every time something better, more aligned has flowed into my life. But only when I truly released the compulsion to control every single outcome, and leaned into trust, enjoyment, and gratitude for what I do have.

People have often said to me the last few years, ā€œyou look like you’re handling it all so well.ā€ And well, sometimes yes sometimes no šŸ˜‚ I am human. But I’m sure what made it seem that way from the outside looking in was that I was relentless in connecting to my body and regulating my nervous system through embodiment practices. And even more relentless in finding pockets of joy despite all the upheaval I was experiencing.

Sometimes in life the path, the lesson, is in what you’re choosing to focus on. Because what we focus on grows, multiplies, and manifests.

And let me be clear, I’m not saying be ignorant and uninformed. We need to be informed in the world we are living in, but everything in balance. And we balance the shit, by choosing to bask in the good.

Learning to notice what feels good in your body, heart, and mind is an important foundational skill for connecting with joy and making shifts and choices that actually feel good.

If you’d like to get better at connecting with your body and choosing the good feeling, try some embodiment practices with me or on your own. by @_catchad_

I want to take a moment to tell you about how reconnecting with my body after years of burnout and living in fight-or-flight helped me feel safe, strong, and beautiful again.

Like many young girls, I grew up hearing and internalizing a lot of messages about my body, my personhood, and the idea that my worth was determined by how other people (and especially men) perceived me.

Don’t take up too much space.
Don’t be loud or confident.
Don’t be goofy or weird.
Don’t get angry—it’s unladylike.
Don’t acknowledge your beauty, it’s vain and self centered.
Don’t embrace your body or feel sexy, because then you’re a slut.

Do be agreeable.
Do be easygoing and pleasant.
Do strive for perfection—but never outshine a man.
Do water yourself down.

Because if you are your full self, you will be too much.
And people don’t like ā€œtoo much.ā€

It’s taken me years to recognize and deconstruct these storylines, and I’m still doing the work every day.

What has given me the space (the sanctuary) to explore all of this has been reconnecting with my body and rediscovering the joy of movement over the last 8 years or so.

Yoga, breathwork, hiking, and exploring activities that make my inner child happy. But most especially, dance.

GOD, do I love to dance.

I often say it was my first and truest love in this life. In my adult years, this last year especially, it has become a place for me to come back to myself and remember:

I am strong.
I am beautiful.
I deserve to take up space.
I can celebrate my sensuality.
I can feel sexy without shame.
And I embody it all, without apology.

If there’s one thing I’d invite you to do, it’s to get curious about what your body has been trying to tell you. Through whatever form of movement that brings you joy, reconnecting with your body has the power to reconnect you with your happiest and truest self.

Ever wonder what all the hype about breathwork is about?
These aren’t just peer reviewed findings, although they are because I am a woman who likes numbers and evidence. šŸ¤“
But I am also a woman who trusts her body and her experiences, and my experience with breathwork has been that it has completely changed and improved my life.

I have been consistently doing breathwork for a few years now and the improvements I’ve seen in my own life have me convinced.

My breathwork journey started at Pure Movement with our community there and eventually bloomed into me doing breathwork daily and then getting certified to also teach this modality along with yoga because I have come to love and trust the benefits of breathwork fully.

All the changes I’ve seen in my life are a story for another time; but mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually I am healthier, more at ease, more confident, and more grounded.

If you’re curious about breathwork, join me Saturdays at 1p @iridescent.apothecary ! šŸ¤āœØ I hope to see you there! by @_catchad_

One thing people ask me a lot (especially my one on one clients) is how I know when I’ve found a space that’s TRULY meant for me.

Honestly… serendipitous moments like this morning’s dance class.

I almost never make Sunday morning classes because I’m usually teaching. But with the holiday weekend, everything just happened to line up. From the second class started, I felt a quiet, ā€œyes.ā€

The song was one I’ve already had on repeat lately and ofc Olivia and Malaya perfectly put words and movement to something I’ve been processing internally for a while now.

The last few years have asked a lot of me. That doesn’t mean they’ve been bad years. They’ve actually been full of some of the most beautiful people, experiences, and moments of my life. But they’ve also required me to let go of a lot, rebuild a lot, and figure out who I am on the other side of all that change.

Over the last year and a half, dance has once again quietly become one of the places that’s helped me come home to myself. Today just felt like another one of those little reminders that I’m exactly where I’m supposed to be.

Sometimes you don’t know a space is meant for you because of some big sign. Sometimes everything just clicks. The timing. The music. The movement. The people.

And something inside of you recognizes itself.

It feels at home.

It honors itself.
