Well, the end of something I’ve known since I was 5. I have always thought about when this time would come but while I looked back at the score board and saw 3 minutes I couldn’t imagine it being the last 3 minutes I’d ever play. I cannot appreciate what all soccer has given to me throughout my years starting when I was 13 meeting addy during club and taking her in as my little sister just to play with her up till my senior year. And Modlene switching schools and inviting her to play again for our team. And the coach that has stuck with us through it all even when he hated us. The guys I’ve grown up with and taught me the harsh realities on our team and even others. The name cat, memories, laughs, and cries. growing up playing against, and with guys made me feel less of and gave me hard moments throughout my career and looking back at it now I’m glad it’s shaped me into the person I am today. Seeing nobody in the stands for me my freshman- junior year showed me I truly did love the sport and was doing it for myself. I hope being the first girl captain on Daleville COED varsity team shows that anyone can do it even when they feel incapable or when nobody is in there corner. I thank my nana for making it to as many home games this year, and Mason and his family. #5 out ❤️ taken in Daleville Jr/Sr High School by @_cathrynday_
