What a moment it was. I’m happy that I came to the front! ❤️ #ComeToTheFront #PersonalBranding #ThoughtLeadership #SystemsDesign #Visibility by @_cheech.e

A few weeks ago, I published an essay I’d been sitting on for a long time. Today for the #CometotheFront Challenge,I’m bringing it back, because the topic is still relevant today. I remember my first real public health job. A desk in the corner. A dashboard I had to teach myself to build overnight, because two years of grad school never prepared me for it. I used to think that gap was personal. A failure to prepare, maybe. It took years to understand it was structural. Public health has always presented itself as neutral. Evidence-based. Above politics. That’s the version taught in intro courses and printed in mission statements. It’s also, for a significant share of the population this field claims to serve, not true, and hasn’t been for as long as the field has existed. I wrote about all of it: the historical record we don’t talk about enough in public health training, what’s happening right now at HHS, where more than 17,000 employees have been cut since 2025, and what it actually takes to rebuild trust that was never fully extended to begin with. This isn’t an argument against public health. It’s an argument about who holds the authority to decide what the science is for, and whether that authority is ever made accountable to the people it claims to protect. Full essay linked in my bio. Let me know what you think! Are the people currently holding power in this field willing to be honest about what it’s actually cost the people asked to carry it? 🤍 . . . #PublicHealth #HealthEquity #mediumwritersofinstagram #SystemsChange by @_cheech.e
Okay…so it’s time for me to come to the front. ✨ Hi. I’m ChiChi. If you’ve known me a while, you probably know me through one version of what I do. Maybe events. Maybe wellness. Maybe public health. or simply loving all things Africa 🌍 Truth is, they’re all connected. I’ve always been interested in people. How we experience things. What makes a room feel different when you walk into it? Why some experiences stay with you long after they’re over. My background is public health, research, and systems strategy. Those years taught me how to look beneath the surface and imagine a better way. Then I realized I didn’t just want to study the system. I wanted to shape what happens inside it. The room. The experience. The story. The feeling. That’s the thread running through everything I build: @oncue.events , @nihuwellness, and every idea that starts with “Wait… what if?” I learned that this journey isn’t about having it all figured out. It’s about letting myself be seen while I’m building. Not just the finished things. Me. The ideas. The experiments. & def the experiences. So, heyyy. 👋🏾 We are finally getting to see what happens when I #cometothefront 🤍 . . . 🧥: @ofuure 📸: @ramirphotography_ . . . #ExperienceDesign #FounderLife #BuildingInPublic #BehindTheScenes ComeToTheFront by @_cheech.e
