tegan dandelion todd. tegan was because of the song nineteen by tegan and sara. dandelion is from when i adopted her at the humane society when she was 9 months old. and todd, well you know the vibe. i really needed something constant in my life when i was nineteen, and tegan became that for me. we got to spend almost 14 incredible years together, and saying goodbye was the most difficult thing ive ever had to do. 8 different apartments, my sisters spare room, 2 different states. tegan experienced the wonders of nature in atlanta to becoming a sidewalk warrior in brooklyn. she was a silly girl with a big personality and a lot of side eye - most importantly, she knew her angles for a photo. she loved people deeply and equally felt the love they shared with her. her shedding was inescapable, but so was the joy she brought me. she taught me responsibility, patience, and unconditional friendship. i’m very broken without her following me into the kitchen, begging for pizza crust, and laying anywhere the sun is shining through. thank you to everyone who has reached out or sent flowers - i really need you to understand how much it means to me. it’s really hard right now, but i know i have each and every memory with her to pull myself back up. this single post could never sum up her delightfulness, but it’s a simple reminder. i will love her forever.
