Talking to Juan before he passed away, knowing that he understood that he was going to die, was one of the saddest moments of my life. But at the same time, it was also one of the most powerful and meaningful moments I have ever experienced.

Juan was so patient. He was so strong.

There were times when he would call me worried, and I honestly had no idea what to say to him. I didn’t have the answers. But somehow, just hearing our voices and hearing us talk to him seemed to calm him down. Sometimes we didn’t have to fix anything. We just had to be there. by @_cinderella_g
