Baththa (2026) - Written and Directed by Balaji Tharaneetharan

This film marks the third collaboration of @actorvijaysethupathi with Balaji, and I can happily say their collab works like a charm.

This film starts out as a thrilling story, revolving around a kid and a gangster, but the way they turned the table around in the later half was just brilliant writing.

The biggest strength of this film is VJS and Sai Prithviraj (Sabari), and at parts, Sai Prithviraj outperformed with his astonishing performance. Thambi, nee kalakitta bhaa 🤍.

With them on screen, @abhyankkar again proved why he's worthy of the hype around him. Maja work as usual.

The movie deals with simple life lessons, which are shown beautifully at the end, and *Baththa* has one of the best character arcs in recent times. The film handles most scenes in a quirky, funny way, but also leaves a thoughtful thing on your mind.

Balaji Tharaneetharan again showed he's one of the promising directors in Kollywood by delivering one of the best films in the industry. This film makes you happy with tears, makes you think about life, and leaves a great impact on you.

A MUST WATCH ON THE BIG SCREENS.

Hi (2026) - Written and directed by @vishnuedavanofficial

Hi deals with a simple plot: a man finding real love in the middle of his chaotic life. A story like this is nothing new, and the way the director handles it follows the usual template. Yet, the vibe is still refreshing, and the perfect cast makes the film feel incredibly vibrant.

@kavin.0431 was the pillar of the film. Man, I just love his performances in every movie, and he carried this one as usual with his subtle, natural acting. I really hope he gets more interesting scripts to prove his versatility; he has all the potential to become the next big star in Kollywood.

@nayanthara was awesome alongside Kavin—a wonderful performance that felt perfectly suited for the character. Even though their on-screen chemistry felt a bit out of sync at times, she managed to pull it off decently, as usual.

The rest of the supporting cast played their roles to the best of their abilities. Watching the late K. Bhagyaraj was sad but also made me proud, knowing his presence will never fade, especially since this film carries traces of his signature filmmaking style.

The film is fun throughout and has a good mix of emotions in parts. It's predictable, but it still worked for me. The old-school screenplay works magically here, elevated by @jenmartinmusic 's music. He is such an underrated music director who really deserves more recognition for his brilliant work.

Hi is a film that works great for anyone who isn't expecting something entirely new. Yes, it’s predictable, full of the usual plot twists and familiar emotional writing. Yet, it gave me such a beautiful, refreshing, and vibrant sense of joy. I loved it, clichés and all. Isn't that what cinema is all about? by @_cinepults
