“There was this rambunctious freedom to the 90s,” says photographer and director Jorden DeGaetano, when speaking on what initially inspired him for this shoot and creating a quarterly with 5 of the guys from Wilhelmina Los Angeles. “Everyone was having fun in the most candid way, and the art, the music, and the fashion reflected that. Nobody did anything with a secondary emotion involved about what they thought people online were going to think. This was my time capsule and a nod to that era I grew up in.”

Burning Man was, once again, a welcome amputation from reality. It’s what brings me back, even through the struggle and the constant test of patience. If you don’t bring a radical sense of humor and perseverance to it, shit will look dismal fast (especially with 40mph winds 80% of the time). But the truth is, this experience is not replicable outside of it. When asked what it is about it that I love, it’s really very simple — the imaginative collective bubble that is constructed. Silliness, art, fuckery, music… a Salvador Dalí painting coming to real life. A dream you can only share with the others who went back home with you 🫶🏽🔥 taken in Black Rock City by @_citizenofearth

Can’t believe it’s been an entire year since I did this shoot with the guys at @wilhelminamodels @wilhelminalamen — glacier cold waters on a beautifully hot day in Southern California.
