I still don’t have the words to explain how the loss of Ryan, my big brother who was everything amazing, kind, selfless, and so incredibly strong. It’s hard to know It’s been two years since I’ve heard his annoying loud laugh, which then I thought was so annoying but now I’d do anything to hear it again. Ryan was selfless and he showed me how to be kind while fighting through diabetes and all the challenges it brings. I only hope to be half the person Ryan is. He was so funny and I miss our weird conversations we would have about the most random things, I wish I didn’t take it for granted. I’m so grateful to have songs that remind me of him, like Piano Man. Grieving my 18 year old, now 20 year old brother is so hard, especially because Ryan missed my graduation, college move in, and he will continue to miss huge milestones in my life. These two years have been so hard without him by my side. Everyone that knows me, knows you. I am so honored to call Ryan my brother and to know Ryan is to love him. I love you 💚 He was truly one of a kind.

Learning to live a life without Ryan here to guide me through the good and hard times while I grow up is so incredibly hard. When I went through sepsis and got diagnosed with another autoimmune disease, I knew Ryan saved me and was watching me. Navigating Addison’s Disease and learning how to manage life with an autoimmune disease, I often think of how he handled one and was so strong. There has been so much I want to tell him and I hope he is so proud of who I’m becoming. by @_clairedunleavy
