I’ve been through so much and I’m just grateful for the opportunity to lead, mentor and inspire. Bethune-Cookman means so much to me and God couldn’t have written a better chapter for me to start a new journey in a place that I call home.

Imagine coordinating food drives to feed the homeless and sleeping on your mama couch.
Imagine being a first generation college graduate with no clear road map on what’s next.
Imagine renting rooms and never feeling home.
Imagine paying your tithes with your last and but never lacking.

Imagine God calling you to something greater and you’re being hesitant to move & in the midst of it God reminds you no weapon formed against you shall prosper.

Imagine you thinking you knew what it took for me to get here mentally, spiritually, physically, and emotionally.

I can’t fail because I ALREADY WON... Imagine that.

Grateful for it all. Winning time.

Winning is hard.

It is not built in the two or three hours you show up for what is required of you. It is built in the reps nobody assigns.

That’s the standard on this episode of From Good to Pro with Coach Demetria Frank, head women’s basketball coach at Bethune-Cookman University.

The extra rep. The extra film session. The extra hour nobody sees.

That is not just how you win a game. That is how you win in life.

From player to coach

In this Homecoming Edition of the From Good to Pro Podcast, I sit down with Bethune-Cookman Women’s Basketball Head Coach Demetria Frank to talk about returning home to B-CU, finding purpose in coaching, building culture, developing players, and preparing them for life beyond basketball.

We also talk faith, leadership, community, and what it takes to keep going when the journey gets hard.

The latest episode of From Good to Pro is available now.
