What happens when students stop just using websites and start building one?

During the Cb: Discover CodeLab workshop, students get a hands-on introduction to web development using HTML and CSS. They’ll learn how websites are structured, experiment with text, images, color, and styling, and build a custom fan page around something they’re interested in.

It’s beginner-friendly, creative, and a great way to see what coding can actually do.

We’ll host two CodeLab sessions at our @templeuniv host site, with one for middle school students and one for high school students. No prior development experience needed.

We’re excited to announce that Coded by: is expanding!

This fall, we’re bringing Coded by: programming to a new host site at @templeuniv, creating another place for Philadelphia students to access free, hands-on tech education.

We’re kicking things off with Cb: Discover workshops, giving students the chance to explore new skills and interests through hands-on experiences in technology, design, and innovation.

Expanding where we offer programming is an important part of making Coded by: more accessible to young people across Philadelphia and creating more opportunities for students to learn, build, and discover what’s possible.

Coded by: is teaming up with @phlconvalley for Your Playlist, Brought to Life, a hands-on workshop where students will turn music into data, design their own visuals, and use HTML to build a music visualizer that reacts to sound.

What if you could take a 3D object, bring it to life, and make it react to you?

We’re partnering with @createaccessorg for 3D Animation Lab, a hands-on workshop where students will use Spline to customize and animate a 3D model, add interactive movement, and bring their creation onto a real web page.

Innovators will experiment with color, texture, motion, and mouse-driven interactions while getting a look at how 3D animation is being used across the web today.

No coding experience needed. Just curiosity and a willingness to create.
