My ability to be the only one of us to contract viral pneumonia aside, this year’s trip to “mickey’s house” was extra magical!✨

We got to meet up some with the Haswell fam for a little bit of halloween fun, princess primping, parade watching, and thrill chasing! It was so fun to see the ✨Disney Magic✨ through the eyes of my “nanny babies” and bond with my “bosses” (who hate when I call them that 😂). I think we all made some core memories — I definitely did! 🥹

I learned quickly that “drinking around the world” is not my sport (iykyk), we finally got to experience Jiko and totally agree with the hype, we wished upon a star while dining in Cinderella’s beautiful castle, adventured across the galaxy to get our new son 🍿, and we had a nice rainy week to grab content for my @interimandink page since I became officially authorized to be a Disney Vacation Planner shortly before our trip.

Allowing myself to stay a kid in spirit is always a little more fun with mickey ears on! 😜

My Coco ears and Loungefly combo grabbed the attention of so many people this trip that I’m now determined to add a lot more cultural diversity into my collections. Representation matters, even at Disney, and if one kiddo feels a little more special with their culture that they recognize being around them then it’s worth every penny!✨🇲🇽

Just my friendly reminder that cultural appreciation and cultural appropriation are not the same thing and celebrating someone else’s heritage respectfully is an important way to grow societally.

Dinner at Jiko is by far my favorite meal on property thus far ☀️

I’ve had a hand in raising this baby his entire life and I will always cherish this giggly toothless smile even though it was fueled by “I’m gonna knock your teeth out” on Dumbo because he learned how to make the hydraulics bounce around while flying 😂

Meanwhile, B got to ride with the baby diva who doesn’t like speed or thrills so they had a smooth, low Dumbo ride 😆

I keep thinking it’ll get easier, but losing my “soul dog” has been one of the deepest griefs. Every dog I’ve ever had the privilege of sharing a life with has been a “once in a lifetime dog” for one reason or another. Each furball has walked a chapter of life with me and stolen a piece of my heart when they’ve left. There’s just something about the dog who follows you around from being a teen and into your thirties, who is around for your nieces and nephews’ childhoods, who raises the dogs he left behind… it’s uncharacteristically painful because you never really pictured an adult life without them in it.

I’ve yet to take a beach trip this summer because he won’t get his puddle of sandy saltwater, I’ve yet to go back to our favorite ice cream spot because he won’t be under the table with his puppy sundae, I haven’t even been able to fathom putting my hammock up or burying his ashes, and there hasn’t been a single sunny day that the windows are down in my car and the music is blaring that tears aren’t streaming down my face because his slobber isn’t ruining the cleanliness of the inside of my door.

It’s a gajillion degrees out and I’m upset that my grumpy little corn chip isn’t fussing at me to take a ride. Grief is weird. by @_codialyssa

Happy Birthday to the woman who somehow manages to keep our lives running while also tolerating my endless ideas, “oopsies”, travel plans, and “just one more thing” moments.

This chapter of life has come with its fair share of challenges, but getting to walk through it alongside someone as steady, goofy, and resilient as you has been a gift. Thank you for showing up every day with love, patience, and a lit throwback playlist to distract us from reality.
