Almost got thrown out… but nope, not on my watch!
There’s something magical about keeping stories like these around.
Honestly, half of what lives in Cookiehill Studio has had a past life✨

An iconic collab with @zehraasma555 ✨

From hunting for the perfect fabric scraps, sketching out the shape, to finally stitching it into a bird bag, we did it all.
A special something for @alankrita.amaya 's session at the Festival of Play @saptaparnihyd organised by @starpapayastory for her book "Can You Draw Love, Abbu" published by the wonderful @thelittledipperpublishing .
Super excited to share this creation with you all. Swipe to see the process! by @_cookiehill_

The Nazar Battu (Drishti Bomai) has always been a nostalgic part of my childhood. Growing up in Chennai, I’d spot these fascinating, eerie faces hanging outside almost every home. A ten year old me would always pause to admire them, cycling through the streets of Anna Nagar. While their purpose was to ward off evil, to me, they were more like quirky, cool monsters

Recently, while passing by a shop in Bangalore, I came across a cluster of these familiar faces hanging together. It instantly transported me back, and I couldn’t resist the urge to bring one home for our @_cookiehill_ studio . But this time, I wanted to reimagine it - a monster that not only guards against negativity but also embodies love, tears, and acceptance.

Here it is: my version of the Nazar Battu, ready to welcome the world at our main door with open arms and a big heart.
Happy 2025 ✨
