Fantasia X Corner Store presents: Mixed Bag

Frustrated with a lack of market power, Fantasia Corporation & Corner Store Enterprises will be trialing a merger on November 7th, and it could be a bit of a mixed bag…

To celebrate this momentous joining of corporate arms across the Cook Strait, we will be celebrating with music and dancing. Across 2 stages at Sydenham Underpass, 4 artists from Te Whanganui-a-Tara and 8 from Ōtautahi will bring you the multi-genre sounds of house, techno, electro, leftfield, bass and footwork. Powered by Fantasia & 103 Soundsystem and supported by an impressive visual array, this is not one to be missed.

Out to @jackkread_ on poster duties!

Get your dancing shoes on next Saturday for Gen-Iration Dubs! A free night of dub, dubstep, jungle and more at Havana Bar, brought to you by two generations of DJs with a passion for soundsystem culture.

Dirty Red of Acetate and more recently Beat Down Babylon, has been playing and hosting parties influenced by Jamaican roots music since 2006 in the capital.

James Faction has a long history in the Wellington sound system music scene, having started Future Funk in 1994, played with an array of internationals in the 90s and 00s, and produced jungle, dub, garage and dubstep since 2006.

Leo McKinnon is a relative newcomer on the scene who produces jungle and dub techno, and is fresh off the back of a release on Dance Therapy records.

3TC is a DJ and producer with releases on SPDO, The Big Fresh Collective & Glitz Club, as well as a self-released album. He organises dance music events in Pōneke with Corner Store and co-hosts Radioactive’s Te Āo Tech show. taken in Havana Bar by @_corner_store___

Dead Air II, streaming live on Mouthfull Radio, 31st July, 9pm-2am.

We’re honoured to be streaming this Friday’s gig live to air on @__mouthfull__
Most of you won’t need any introduction to Mouthfull Radio, Te Whanganui-a-Tara’s finest independent online radio station. We thought this was a perfect match since Dead Air II pays homage to independent & online radio’s importance to electronic music.

The selectors will have free rein to play anything they feel throughout the night with only the vaguest through-line of leftfield electronica. Expect ambient, downtempo, dub techno, warped breakbeats, and all things under the sun and Moon 🌝 taken in Moon Bar by @_corner_store___

Corner Store presents: Dead Air II, powered by Torque Sounds.

Dead Air is an exploration into the emotional, atmospheric and leftfield, as well as an homage to independent radio. Student and online radio stations allow DJs and producers to experiment with less typical club forms, pushing forward electronic music. Come with open ears and open minds.

We’re super honoured to have Porcelain and Prose down from Tāmaki for this special event, and to showcase the Ōtautahi-Pōneke connection with selectors UV and 3TC. These four DJs will weave between genres and across the entire tempo range throughout the night.
