A moment I’ll never forget! 🏆💙

In April 2025, I was honored to receive the Hometown Award from the City of Lynwood. This recognition was bigger than me—it represented the years of service, sacrifice and commitment to creating opportunities for young people and families in our community.

I’m truly grateful to the City of Lynwood for recognizing the work and everyone who has supported the vision along the way. This award is motivation to keep showing up, keep serving and keep making a difference! 🙏🏽💪🏽🌟

A hug is more than a moment. 💛

California signed the Hug Act (AB 1646) on September 27, 2026. It takes effect January 1, 2027. It provides for appropriate, consensual physical contact during in-person visits for youth in juvenile facilities, including hugs at the beginning and end of a visit and holding hands.

The law also allows temporary limits for significant safety or security concerns, including certain court orders or specific health concerns.

Families visiting now: please follow your facility’s current rules and ask staff before any physical contact. Signing the bill did not change today’s visiting rules.

Creating Opportunities Initiative supports the family connections that help young people heal and return home.

In July 2026, our contract at Los Padrinos Juvenile Hall came to an end. It hurt to leave, knowing the impact our team was making in the lives of the youth. 💔

But God—the Man above—was pushing me toward the next step. 🙏🏾 I’ve worked with youth before incarceration, supported them during incarceration, and now I’m stepping into aftercare to help them build a better future once they return to the community.

It’s time to create. It’s time to learn. It’s time to equip. 🌱📚💪🏾 Every chapter has been part of the plan.

Stay tuned—and please continue supporting the vision. We’re only getting started! 🔥🩵

🚨 A MISTAKE SHOULD NOT BECOME A LIFE SENTENCE.

Juvenile incarceration can interrupt a young person’s education, relationships, confidence, and future—but the right mentor can help redirect their entire life. 💯

System-impacted youth do not need to be permanently labeled by their past. They need accountability, guidance, advocacy, positive exposure, and someone who refuses to give up on them. 🤝🏾

Creating Opportunities Initiative provides youth mentorship, reentry support, and advocacy for young people and families navigating the system.

Teach them young! 👕🎨🔥 Our Create-a-Shirt Workshop is about more than making T-shirts—it’s about teaching new skills, inspiring creativity, and creating opportunities for one another. 💡🙌🏽

Every positive hobby gives our youth something productive to focus on, keeps their minds active, and helps keep them away from the streets. When we introduce them to new possibilities early, we give them a chance to discover their purpose. 🩵💪🏽
