Some time has passed and it is still blows me away that we all came together the way we did to celebrate the life of Gregg and still so sad that we even had to cause he is no longer with us.
Death can put things in perspective.. what is fundamentally important and what isn’t? What are the feelings? Whats real vs fantasy?
Been reflecting a lot since he has passed. About our friendship and about my relationships to people in general. Death is inevitable and my appreciation for life and the people I have in my life has been loud. Its easy to get caught up in the daily grind and unfortunate life circumstances and to loose sight of all the good things.
Gregg introduced me to a lot of people, some, which are my very best friends, and have helped change my life immensely. He introduced me to a therapist that gave me EMDR sessions over the course of years that helped change my life. He was super supportive of my art and my bands. The samples I used to use in egrets and when we would do crass band was on his sampler that he let me borrow (before i got my own). He taught me about meditation, Buddhism and Other spiritual practices. He helped integrate me into the world of sobriety. The egrets show that happened back in 2017 that was an art installation/release show… Happened at blank city records because Gregg helped connect me to Brandon. He made me laugh so much. I mean, he made me roll my eyes and wanna pull out my hair sometimes too, but I digress. I’m sure there are countless other ways that he had a significant part in my life. I am not special. He connected a lot of people and helped a lot of people. But because there’s no one else like him and he is no longer with us. I wanted to express my appreciation.
There has been a lot of people in my life that have helped me grow as a person and as an artist. I am grateful for all of you and I appreciate your life and our connection, even if we aren’t as connected as we used to be. ❤️✨
