✨ OPEN WEEK at The Little Gym Handy Cross ✨AD @thelittlegymhandycross

If you’ve been thinking about trying a new class for your little one, I honestly couldn’t recommend The Little Gym more.

Watching my little one’s confidence grow has been one of the best parts of taking him. He’s learning new skills, building real strength and constantly progressing, often doing things now that he couldn’t do when he first started.

But it’s not just about the gymnastics. He genuinely loves going, and you can see how much the supportive environment helps him. The coaches encourage him, challenge him and give him the confidence to keep trying, without ever making it feel like pressure.

Seeing him walk out proud of himself because he’s managed something new is exactly why we keep going!

Open Week is running from 7th–20th September, with spaces limited.

No pressure, no expectations, just a chance to come along, have a go and see what they’re capable of.

WAIT UNTIL YOU SEE THESE BUBBLES 🫧

If you’re looking for something to do when the weather is absolutely rubbish, then make sure you save this one!

It’s a one-hour slime activity that gives the little ones plenty to get stuck into.

And yes…there are huge bubbles!

The Slime Hub is really interactive, they get to make, mix, experiment and obviously get a little bit messy (although I think that may have just been my two boys 🤣)

And you leave with 2 containers of slime to take home which they’ve been playing with ever since!

I think this is particularly good for a rainy day when you need to get everyone out of the house!
Perfect for:

Rainy weekends
School holidays
After-school activities
Or just when you’ve run out of ideas.

Parent tip:
Wear clothes you don’t mind getting slime on.

And I’d book ahead it was quite busy!

SAVE THIS ONE FOR THE KIDS 👀🌊

We found a seaside day out that kept the boys entertained from start to finish…

🦀 Rock pooling, crabs, tiny fish and plenty of “Mum, Dad, look at this!” moments.

🌊 A dip in the sea, because apparently no beach day is complete without getting absolutely soaked!

🚤 The local lifeboat centre, and the boys even got to stand on the back of the lifeboat for a photo. Such a cool experience. @sidmouthlifeboat

🍽️ Lunch at Rockfish and honestly, I was impressed with the little ones’ menu. It felt so much healthier and more varied than the usual kids’ options you find at seaside restaurants. @therockfishuk

🍦 Then we wandered into town for ice cream, independent shops and a few unique little finds.

If you grew up in the 90s, you’ll probably remember the excitement of being given a few coins and heading to the sweet shop to choose your favourites!

1p sweets might be long gone, but is this the next best thing?

We visited Pick n Mixes in Amersham @picknmixes.com_ , and the boys absolutely love it here. The shop isn’t huge, but it is quite literally filled to the brim with sweets, so many to choose from that deciding what to have is probably the hardest part! 😂

The idea is really simple, you choose the containers of sweets you fancy, then let them know how much you’d like. From memory, I think the smallest amount was around 250g, but you can split that between different sweets, so you don’t have to commit to 250g of just one type.

It’s such a fun little experience and definitely gives us those 90s sweet-shop summer vibes!

For us, it’s the perfect spot for a special treat, and I love that it feels like more of an experience than simply picking up a bag of sweets.

📍 Pick n Mixes, Amersham

🚗 There is usually parking available on the nearby roads, although on a busy day you may need to find alternative parking.

🚂 They also usually have a little train that delivers sweets to the children from the counter, or sometimes a swinging bunny 🐰. Unfortunately, they weren’t doing this when we last visited, so I can’t say for certain when these are running.

We had to try the new wooden Marble Run at Wendover Woods… 👀🌳 @wendover.woods

We absolutely loved the idea of this one — a mile-long marble run through the woods sounded like the perfect adventure for the boys!

But then Nicola and the boys arrived and found out the marbles were £8 EACH 😳💷

We had 3 children with us that day, that was £24 just for the marbles… and honestly, that felt pretty steep to us.

The weekend was really busy, with lots of children waiting for their turns or all trying to go at the same time, and collecting their marbles. Even though we’d written our names on ours, it was still difficult to keep track of which was which and unfortunately, our niece’s marble ended up being taken by another child (whether intentionally or not) and we never found it! 😬

They absolutely loved exploring the different sections and we were impressed that they managed the whole mile! 🙌 It kept them entertained for ages.

That said, we did feel that some of the marble sections were quite spread out and we’d love to see a few more runs added in between to keep the momentum going.

And then came the moment you can see the big hill in the forest in the reel… 👀 One of our £8 marbles was dropped and rolled straight into the forest! 😂 Nicola then spent 10–15 minutes hunting for it with a child upset and waiting and thankfully managed to find ours!

Overall, we think it’s a brilliant design and something really different, and all the children genuinely loved it. ❤️

Our advice? Go when it’s a little quieter if you can, as it was much easier to keep track of the marbles and enjoy the experience.

Would we go back? YES.
Do we think £8 per marble is too much? ALSO YES. 😂
Parking is also expensive over 5 hours is £15 which you just don’t expect when visiting a woods!
If the marbles were cheaper, losing or accidentally having one taken wouldn’t feel quite so painful!

For months, this is ALL our little one had asked for… @riirooltd

He is completely obsessed with anything and everything motorbikes, so we just knew we had to make his birthday wish come true and surprise him with his very own.

Safe to say, he was absolutely BUZZING, and he’s barely got off it since. He’s been cruising up and down the road shouting “WAHOOO!” at the top of his voice so we think he loves it 🤣

I think we can safely say we absolutely smashed the birthday present brief with this one.
