As I close this chapter and look to the future, I am reminded that every students journey is unique. Never feel as though you are “behind” or “off track”, know that your journey is valid. Your path is different— not deficient. You are capable, you are strong, and you are enough.

This is a celebration of our journey, our struggles, and our triumphs. As a Black graduate, I’ve faced numourous challenges, but I have persevered, and that’s what makes this moment so meaningful. I have proved to myself that I am capable of achieving greatness. As me and my fellow classmates walked across this stage, we not only accepted a diploma; we claimed our place in the world.

Thank you to all my incredible professors and amazing friends who pushed me to be my best self, even when I thought I wasn’t capable of succeeding.

To my family, especially my mother, who’ve been with me every step of the way, thank you. Your love and support have meant the world to me. I am so grateful for you all , and I hope this moment makes it all worth it.
