Join us for a Greater Groove x @girlz_nelson send off party for the one and only @skydog.world as she moves to Victoria in a month. Sky Dog has been a staple of the Nelson underground scene, both on her own as a solo producer/dj and as a founder of the GIRLZ crew, who’ve been throwing sick femme and queer centric parties and workshops over the last few years. But more than all she’s contributed to building the scene and making our bodies wiggle, Sky Dog has been a solid friend, kind heart, and dance floor comrade. We’ve been honoured to know her and have her play a number of our parties throughout the years, and we are going to miss her dearly. So come out and dance your heart out to celebrate the wonderful Sky Dog. We’ll have a b4b between @_dangerjane_ @quinnbucciol @skydog.world with @mochileromusic dropping in for a track or two from time to time. After the b4b, we’ll have a short political interlude where we’ll discuss the upcoming municipal and school board elections, with a potential surprise guest or two. To close the night, we’ll have the lovely @danielaaaa.mp3 and @laelaheidtmusic serenade us. Finally, we’re raising money for @laststandwestkootenay to support Elder @elderbilljones in getting to the Kootenays for an old growth rally on Sunday and his book talk on Monday. Swipe left for the posters for all other events, parking and address, and a cute shot of the girlz and mossy at our first heart2heart event in Jan. Hope to see you out there! 😘😘😘 by @_dangerjane_

This event was created to amplify the power of choosing love. It is a space where we can embody our joy and embrace the privilege of being held in a supportive community. Where this collective joy becomes our catalyst for creating change. The dance floor has always been a place for connection, healing, and resistance. May the music and experience guide you to flow with and through your emotions, ignite passion in your soul, and inspire you to share the embodiment of love beyond the dance floor.
Love, compassion, and reverence for our humanity are deeply needed in this world.
You are needed in this world.
Together we can move forward and united is the way. by @_dangerjane_

So much fun was had at the Moonflower barn where we went b2b2b2b with @mochileromusic to raise money for @brandisplace, a local grassroots organization dedicated to providing a warm safe space for vulnerable and displaced people to go to at night. They operate on donations and volunteer efforts, and we were truly proud to support this cause! This was such a perfect evening to drop some tracks that we don’t usually get to play out, from 12-minute 119bpm bangers to Michael Jackson remixes! Thank you so much to @thegreatergroove for having us out, stay tuned for more GIRLZ magic in the works!! 🪄🌹 by @_dangerjane_

Danger Jane is a Nelson-based DJ and co-founder of GIRLZ, whose lifelong love of music and movement naturally evolved from dance-floor devotion to community radio digging and, eventually, the booth. Her sound blends techno, house, acid, and dubby undercurrents, punctuated by off-kilter curveballs that keep the room guessing. Jane has brought her sets to festivals such as Re-Union and Global Heat, where she keeps dancers locked into deep grooves, whether that be the start of the night or into the wee hours (her favourite time of day) 🌚

Catch @_dangerjane_ at 9:20PM, adding fuel to the sparks on the dancefloor!! 🔥

Tickets are now SOLD OUT 🤯 Thank you so much for your excitement, stay tuned for deets on LIMITED DOOR TIX!! Make sure to come early so you don’t miss a single minute of excitement! 🤩

xoxo
