💫The biggest mural I created for REBUILD @therbcapsule . 🎨🖌️🔥 43.25ft × 12.33ft of artwork, painted with gloss on a massive container surface. This one came with its own challenges. The land was hilly, making it difficult to position the ladder and scaffold properly. Add the heat from working under the sun and constantly climbing up and down — it was physically demanding. I called on two of my guys from OAU, @noah_oladejo and @olifechi_art , to join me on this one. We really put in the work, pushed through the challenges, and made it happen. A big thank you to the founder, @cstananigbogu , for calling — and I answered. 🙏🏾 Thank you for the opportunity and for trusting us with such a massive piece. From the scale to the details and the gloss finish, I’m really proud of how this came out. Another one delivered. 💫 Title; MEMORY Size; 2ft by 3ft Medium; ACRYLIC ON CANVAS Artist; DASOLA OYEKOLA (DASMOND ART) Year; 2024 "Memory" is a poignant artwork that masterfully conveys the intricate relationships between identity, culture, and recollection. At its core, the piece presents a hauntingly beautiful fusion of a human head and a village house, seamlessly blended to convey the inextricable link between one's roots and sense of self. The vibrant colours and expressive brushstrokes that dance across the canvas imbue the artwork with a sense of energy and movement, evoking the dynamic nature of memory and remembrance. The bold, almost tactile strokes of the brush seem to pulse with the rhythm of nostalgia, drawing the viewer into the depths of the artwork's emotional landscape. The incorporation of African motifs in the background adds a rich layer of cultural context, grounding the piece in a specific heritage while simultaneously emphasizing the universal human experience of remembering and longing. The motifs seem to whisper stories of tradition and ancestry, their intricate patterns and symbols weaving a narrative that complements the central fusion of head and house. Notably, a graduation logo is subtly integrated into the background, suggesting the subject's aspirations for success and upward mobility, while also acknowledging the importance of their roots and cultural heritage. This added layer of meaning underscores the artwork's exploration of the complex interplay between personal identity, cultural background, and individual ambition. Overall, "Memory" stands as a powerful exploration of the human experience, a testament to the enduring power of recollection and the indelible mark of our roots on our sense of identity. Through its masterful use of symbolism, colour, and composition, the artwork invites the viewer to contemplate the very fabric of their own memories and emotions. #memory #dasmondart #artwork #artistsoninstagram #painting #gallery #artgallery #musium #cuturalheritage #africanmotifs #colours #share #painter #contemporaryart by @_dasmondart
