Daudi aliandika Zaburi nyingi. Hata hivyo, hakutumia maisha yake yote kukumbuka ushindi wake dhidi ya Goliathi. Aliandika kuhusu hofu zake, maumivu, mashaka na utegemezi wake kwa Mungu.

I used to think I wanted to become someone important.

Then I met ordinary people doing extraordinary things without knowing they were extraordinary.

A father working with tired hands.

A mother giving when she has nothing left. A child sharing what little she has.

A broken man choosing another morning.

And I realized, Maybe being a good person is a greater achievement than being an important one.

Do you know what ENTROPY is?

It is the quiet tendency of things to fall out of order.
Tea cools.
Ice melts.
Smoke scatters.

And maybe life does the same.
People leave. Dreams collapse. We lose parts of ourselves.

But maybe we're not meant to remain untouched.
Maybe we're meant to keep rebuilding with whatever remains.

So if all you have left is one little piece of hope hold it.
That's enough to start.

In another life, I meet my father when he is a little boy. We sit on the roof of his old house as the sun goes down..

He points to the clouds and says which one looks like a bird, which one like a boat.

He laughs when I guess wrong, loud and happy, no worry in his eyes.

He shows me his marbles.. the shiny ones he won from friends, he says he wants to be a pilot so he can fly high and see if the river looks like a snake from up there, his voice is light, full of big dreams, no fear yet.

I want to meet that boy. Before life taught him men shouldn't cry.

We talk about simple things.. rain, dogs, how high he can jump, he doesn't know I am his son from years ahead. I don't tell him.

I just sit there and listen to the boy who will become my father.. the one who will work hard, stay up worrying, carry everything quietly so we could have better days.

I want to hug that boy and tell him it's okay to dream, to laugh, to be soft. But I don't. I let him talk. I let him be happy. Because some things can't be changed.
