09/11 marks the C/O 2030’s one month Vetaversary as the the new kids on the block @ TUCVM …

I can’t begin to express the juxtaposition of vet school rn.
It’s the thing that takes up most of my time but is the last thing on my mind. Going into school, that previous statement was flipped. I quickly experienced burnout while also recognizing God teaching me how to let go. Though I’m in an institution learning, God’s teachings through my life circumstances have been the main curriculum. Keeping Him on my mind resulted in me having time for school. I feel like I’m experiencing Matthew 6:33 & Proverbs 3:6 in real time. It’s wild bc it’s like learning a new version of yourself while God is saying, “it’s new to you but it’s always who I’ve known you as”. I’m grateful to be stripped of all things I thought would once make me to find the One who actually did.

I digress , my friend got “BIG WHITE COATED” this month. Big J not the little. My cousin ran his first 5K, run for me too. I failed my first quiz and passed my first exam. go figure. I tried pickleball out for the first time. new found passion unlocked. didn’t realize that my biggest challenge would be keeping up w/ emails. had my first speaking engagement. got a new position on eboard in school. ate more seaweed snacks than I could count. learned that the word “cumulative” was left in undergrad. keep me in your prayers. have found a new found appreciation for lunch & learns. I learned to turn dnd on… in person. had my first feature.. on the sleep cam. my family came to bombard me w/ love and food. I need that, especially the love part. cried more/ laughed even more. met the upperclassman. I hope to be like them when I move up. got my first knock out of formaldehyde, ammonia or whatever…

BUT most importantly, I have continued to surrender in my intimacy with the Lord.

A new journey begins! 🐯I’m excited to announce that I will be joining the Tuskegee University College of Veterinary Medicine, Class of 2030. Thank You Lord for doing what only You can do. It was truly a pleasure being welcomed by the TUCVM family this week at orientation. I had the privilege to spend time with my cohort before we embark on this rigorous journey and not one minute was wasted. I’m grateful to everyone who has been apart of this journey & may the Lord return the blessing ten-fold.
