Hey lovelies!🤍 I’ve been seeing new faces around here & I think it’s time I introduce myself and Dynsty Hair. Doing hair has always been a major part of my family for as long as I could remember. It all started in Eritrea & Ethiopia with my grandmother Maru - the matriarch of my maternal family. She started by braiding the children in her village and was able to raise her kids as a single mother by turning her talent into a career. This talent was then passed down to my mom who has been in the hair industry for over 25 years and now running our family salon for over 12 years. From a young age I can remember checking clients in for their appointments, sweeping up after the hairstylists, braiding my friends at school and experimenting with hairstyles on myself. Throughout high school and my 2 years of university I started taking my own clients in the salon doing braids, twists, faux locs and more. During the COVID-19 pandemic I started “wig influencing” and making wigs with the hair that my mom sells in the salon. My passion grew quickly as I started shipping wigs internationally while making YouTube videos and then moved out on my own to go full throttle on my hair journey with Beauty by Delina. Now fast forward to 2024 and we’re starting the year off with Dynsty Hair! After years of looking to revise my brand into something more authentic to my identity, my siblings and I came up with ‘Dynsty’ during our trip to Ethiopia last year while visiting my grandmother after 20 years. After a long battle with cancer, my grandmother went to heaven just a few months after we saw her and I’m now even more compelled to honour her legacy alongside my mom. Doing hair is about building relationships with people, creating a welcoming environment where people can come in and feel their most confident. That is what I intend to do with Dynsty Hair and I’m so happy to honour the the strong women in my family simultaneously. I have big dreams for my small business and I’m exhilarated to continue this journey with you all. There's a specific kind of quiet you carry when you're doing the "responsible" thing instead of the right thing for you. Not loud rebellion, just a slow disconnect from yourself that most people don't notice until something forces them to stop and feel it.
