Saint Louis Dance Theatre is incredibly proud to announce that company artist Demetrius Lee has been named a recipient of the prestigious 2026 Princess Grace Award! 👑

Out of nominations from arts organizations and universities nationwide, the Foundation selects just 18 winners annually across theater, dance, and film. The Foundation’s community of honorees now numbers more than 1,000 artists nationwide, placing Demetrius among a select group recognized for their artistic intentionality, technical excellence, and promise of extraordinary impact on their field.

My love letter to summer,

This season gifted me a lot and I have no words to explain how blessed I am to have this walk of life!

I’m going into my third year of living here in St.Louis and I can say it has become my 2nd home! From deeper connections, abundant opportunities, FAITH like no other and a circle that God made very intentional for me! Moving here gave me more than I ever expected and I’m blessed to say it has given me a foundation where my seed has grown and stretched beyond.

This birthday was nothing but magical🎂. From soft moments, sweet memories, tranquil energy, beautiful friendships, and abundant love and luxury! The absolute most perfect way to start this new chapter off. The Dream B~Day picnic turn into reality!

What a season, finished out a magical 2nd season with @stldancetheatre!!!!

I’m so grateful for this season with STLDT….It stretched me, shaped me, and reminded me the significance of purpose! I’m so thankful for the family and circle I was blessed with and for how they inspire me each and every day. There’s never a dull moment with them lol!!!! I’m amazed at the stages I’ve been on, the connections I’ve made, and the full circle moments this season has brought. Over this season I’ve learned a lot about myself as an artist but more so who I am as an Individual . I’m truly honored for the chance to grow and be part of something so transformative and rare. This season was legit for the books, and that’s on “Love Languages”✨♥️

Also wanted to give a shout out to all the people that help sew this vision together to be able to put such amazing art in a space, starting with one of the best executive directors out there @warnerprange ! Also special thanks to AD @swervinandkirven!!!

Beyond Thankful @princessgraceus ✨

This is the most meaningful moment of my career and life, and I am extremely grateful to be honored in this manner. First and foremost, I thank God for the grace that has carried me during this journey.

A heartfelt thank you to @swervinandkirven & @stldancetheatre for trusting me and honoring me with this nomination! So blessed to be surrounded by incredible artist each day and call them family!

I am deeply grateful for my grandmother, thank you for every sacrifice, every prayer, and every ounce of love you have poured into me since I could ever remember. I truly would not be in this place in life without your guidance!

To everyone who has invested in me, family, friends, mentors, and educators, I thank you for encouraging me to be my best self! Your belief and support have shaped me into the artist I am today.
