Two months ago I decided to pack a carry-on and a laptop and take off on a whim. Here are 3 lessons I’ve learned so far…

1. You are one decision away from a totally different life. We (myself included) often make excuses when we’re unhappy with whatever life throws us, as if we don’t have control over our circumstances, but we do. Making these choices can be difficult, but staying in the same situation can be too. Choose your hard.

2. When an opportunity presents itself, take it. While planning ahead gives us a sense of direction, there are no guarantees that things will pan out. Seize the moment, always.

3. Each place is a bookmark in your story, a chapter left open - but when you leave, you carry fragments of these moments with you, forever changed by the connections forged along the way.

🌵✨🇲🇽 December in CDMX 🌵✨🇲🇽

Two weeks just scratched the surface for what there is to discover in this crazy, beautiful city 🤩

Here is a roundup of highlights from my trip in no particular order:

🌳 Chapultepec Park - the amount of green space in this City is impressive, but this park, larger than NYC’s Central Park, has museums 🖼️, a castle 🏰, a lake 🚣‍♂️, and so so many food vendors 🍿… so it should come as no surprise this was my absolute favourite park 💚

🌮 The Street Food in Centro Historico… not just tacos but tlacoyos, tostadas, quesadillas, chicharrones…I swear the best meals I’ve had were all while standing 😂 and if I had to choose my favourite stall, it would have to be 📍Tlacoyos La Blanca … you’re welcome 😋

🎶 There’s too many options when it comes to live music venues; I personally loved watching the jazz performance at @Jazzatlandcapital but equally enjoyed finally seeing @keep_on_moving_radio play some of his exclusive collection of vinyls 💚

🏫 UNAM is Mexico’s prestigious and autonomous public university with a beautiful campus and is recognized as a UNESCO world heritage site, including the iconic stone mural depicting the ancient history of Mexico

🤼‍♀️ Luche Libre - regardless if you’re a wrestling fan or not - this was very high energy and fun to experience, and something I’d suggest doing at least once if you have the opportunity

🌊 Xochimilco Boat tour - This was such an amazing experience I would do it again 💯..I loved being able to learn about the history of the area while witnessing members of the local community celebrate different milestones while listening to mariachi, eating and drinking and taking in the natural beauty of the floating gardens

📍Pico Do Arieiro, Madeira 🇵🇹

Also known as “Pico to Pico” or “Stairway to Heaven” is the craziest 🥵 yet most beautiful 🤩 4 h hike I’ve ever experienced. At 1500 m elevation, you are literally above the clouds and at the highest point of Madeira island. Waking up at 5 AM to witness the magical sunrise 🌄 makes the aches and pains I’m feeling today alllll worth it 😅🥲🤪
