We knew we wanted art to be core to the Dot’s experience. Art nurtures and inspires us. It transports us to new places, provokes ideas, and shifts our perspective. Art makes us feel something.

And we’re feeling a lot of things about this piece by Adam Hines that our friends @projectonward hand-delivered the other day.

It’s a portrait of our grandma Dot, who turns 101 years old today, sitting in the cafe that we named after her the day before we opened (swipe to see the photo that inspired Adam’s piece).

Dot taught us to love and appreciate art early on, and it’s only fitting that the spark for art that she ignited has now come full circle in the form of this beautiful piece by Adam.

Thank you Adam Hines and Project Onward. We are forever grateful.

We’re gonna frame this and move it from the fridge to somewhere special in the cafe. Hopefully you all can come by to see it soon.

Oh, and happy 101st birthday to our grandma, Dot! To celebrate, we'll be comping the check for our 101st order today.

October's shaping up to be a pretty busy month for Dot's FM!

On the 3rd (this weekend!), we have our Pour-over pop-up with Metric Saturday along with our first weekend service hours. Metric will be in FM starting at 10am bringing with them a natural Guatemala from Finca La Bolsa for your pour over enjoyment! We will also have retail bags of that same coffee for purchase.

One week after this (starting the 10th) we'll be offering pour-overs permanently on the menu at Dot's!

On the 17th: we have a special and very limited offering: tasting flights from the Fermentation Project, by James Hoffman. We will have one batch of coffee, fermented three different ways, along with an non-fermented control: Wild Fermentation, Lactobacillus, and Saccharomyces Yeast Inoculated fermentation. 1) We now have a veggie breakfast sammy with a 7-minute egg, hash brown patty, smoked mozzarella, cheddar, pecorino, and Calabrian chili aioli
