IMHO the problem with avocado toast is often that it’s like a texture disaster with too much mushy stuff. So this is a great alternative recipe. It’s multigrain toast, a thin layer of mayo, one avocado sliced (1/2 for each piece), pickled carrots, and this very good Sichuan Chili Sauce by #flybyjin drizzled over. Did you know you can use old pickle juice to pickle carrots? Slice them or julienne or whatever and throw them in, give it about 2 days and eat them. Good reuse for pickle juice and on these, the carrots were perfect. This sichuan sauce has such good flavor and heat but also has a lot of crunch from dried soy beans, fava beans and other crunchy shit. HIGH recommendation. by @_driftingthrifter

It’s basically a tomato apocalypse at this point, with varieties I never planted popping up out of nowhere. AND! They look soops adorbs in this Egersunds Fayancefabrik (Egersund Potteries) casserole bowl. Here’s a little history: In 1847, Johan Feyer founded the company which ran for 132 years. It served as Egersunds, Norway’s primary employer and distributed earthenware across all of Europe until it closed in 1979. Egersund sits on the southwestern coast of Norway. by @_driftingthrifter

It’s #gooddayattheoffice when you find dresses from the 40s, 60s and 70s in one trip to the thrift! It’s definitely gotten harder to find true vintage at the thrift store recently, so you have to get to know your stores. And what helps me the most (I think) is I have extraordinary patience when it comes to vintage shopping. I go through every section, scour every rack, and sometimes do multiple laps of I have time. I missed this 40s Polkadot darling my first run through. by @_driftingthrifter
