I wanted to create an object that would allow for those moments of sensitivity and closeness to be within reach. A Field of Daises // Latch SofaWe were thinking about a space to stretch out, rest, read, or sleep. An sanctuary big enough to share. We knew we wanted the sofa frame to be a non-distracting vessel for something more special, so we built a minimal pine “shell”.Crafted by the hands and imagination of @tessabandouveris, over 5,000 petals were cut and stitched together to engulf the seat with daises.Entering at the upstairs level, the visitor descends into the belly of the home. We created this object to be a crown jewel of this built-into-the-mountain laurel canyon home. Surrounded by pine, linen, and voile, the sitter dreams, reads, and chats over countless creme daisies. -Documenting an object is always as detail-oriented as making the work itself. An accompanying daybed will land in the space at the end of June, but we were too excited and had to share these images as soon as we had them. Had the pleasure of visiting my favorite museum in Athens — Museum of Cycladic Art — and seeing the incredible Marlene Dumas painting show, Cycladic Blues, up until November 2, 2025. I was also asked by the lovely team there to stock my candle boxes in the @cycladicmuseumshop! This is such a pleasure because, after visiting the museum last summer for the first time, I spent as much time in the museum shop as I did in the Cindy Sherman show. The last few pictures in the slide are from this show. Candle boxes available for purchase starting this week at @cycladicmuseumshop, pleased to be alongside so many incredible greek artists.
