Exploring the shifting pressure, texture and atmosphere of contemporary underground psychedelia @_ebbs_flows presents ‘Phase Weather’, a 19-track Various Artist release!

Moving through half-time weight, broken trance, deep drone, mental tribe rhythms and experimental bass structures, the compilation gathers artists working across the edges of club music and altered listening. Rather than following a fixed line, Phase Weather moves like a change in conditions: low pressure, humid space, distorted signals, hidden landscapes and unstable inner states passing through the system.

Across the release, organic percussion meets heavy low-end movement, ritualistic tones dissolve into high-tempo patterns, and controlled structures give way to intuition, decay and atmosphere. There is a constant sense of transformation here - sound emerging from silence, rhythm folding into texture, and familiar forms gradually slipping out of shape.

With Phase Weather, Ebbs & Flows offers a collection built on subtle tension, deep listening and system-minded experimentation, where each track feels less like a destination and more like a shift in the room.

“Antimatter Catalyzed” EP by @einox_ has been just released on @_ebbs_flows and is available on our Bandcamp! Contemporary electronic music merely a nostalgic hauntology, passively reiterating stagnant genres of the past - or a defiant act of destruction, like deconstructed club music that dismantles the dance floor itself? Between these two poles, the EP stands as an inquiry into musical form. Yet rather than proposing a direction for electronic music as a whole, it offers a candid reflection on Einox’s own memories and doubts.

After months of groundwork and a string of podcasts introducing its soundworld - the new London-based imprint Ebbs & Flows is proud to open its catalogue with its first official release: Spectral Shadows, a four-track EP from Belgian producer @pete_owl 🦉

Rooted in the UK’s long-standing tradition of forward-thinking bass music, @_ebbs_flows was founded with a simple aim: to explore the emotional, atmospheric corners of electronic music without getting boxed in by genre. The label focuses on movement, texture, and depth - music that shifts, expands, and breathes.

Bringing Owl on board for the inaugural release feels spot-on. His productions have always carried a distinct sense of restraint and weight, the kind of tension that sits between the beats and lingers long after they fade. On Spectral Shadows, he leans further into this subtlety, crafting something cinematic yet unfussy - moody, spacious, and charged with that unmistakable half-step pulse.

The EP drifts through deep drum & bass and halftime territory, full of shadowy atmospheres, detailed percussion, and melodies that feel like transmissions from somewhere just out of reach. Each track sits comfortably in the cracks between rhythm and stillness, between the physical and the spectral.

For Ebbs & Flows, Spectral Shadows marks the beginning of a journey into sound without borders. For Owl, it’s another step in refining his uniquely minimal, emotionally rich approach.

ValaV is a Venezuelan-born DJ and producer based in Barcelona, shaping a distinct sonic language he defines as Psygroove, a fusion of deep - hypnotic techno, trance and psychedelics groove architecture.
A passionate advocate for inclusion and equality, ValaV’s mission extends beyond music, he is committed to cultivating high-energy spaces where freedom of expression and collective intensity coexist.

His 2025 EP Aner Dypsijós marked a defining step in his artistic evolution, earning support from artists such as Richie Hawtin, Kangding Ray, Dax J and Anetha, and further establishing his presence within the international electronic circuit.

From Berlin to Barcelona and Copenhagen, ValaV has brought his Psygroove sound to respected institutions including RSO, KitKatClub, Müenze, Den Anden Side and Rote Sonne, as well as festivals such as Hivernacle and Brunch Electronik.

Rooted in sobriety and conscious presence, his approach to club culture balances introspection with propulsion, connecting physical rhythm with inner movement and collective elevation.

Happy release day - “The Four” is out! When the invitation came from Ebbs and Flows, the initial direction for the EP was fairly clear. @v_ant_a wanted to create something rich in texture, made more for listening, wandering and getting lost in the sound than for dancing, per se. The label’s name almost seemed to describe the direction he had in mind before he had even started.

The brooding character of the EP came more naturally as the process developed. As the tracks took shape, they began to take on a life of their own, moving between darker, more unsettling moments and small glimpses of warmth and hope. Looking back, he feels that much of this came from the emotions and experiences he went through over the last year. The EP became a way of processing those feelings and translating them into sound.

The track names came much later. For some reason, he felt deeply nostalgic while mixing the EP, returning to the tracks again and again, but none of the names he came up with ever really stuck. Then, one night, while watching a World of Warcraft stream, something suddenly clicked. As a longtime Warcraft enthusiast, Marvin began to feel as though the tracks were speaking to him - almost like voices or entities from somewhere outside himself. What better names, then, than those of the four gods of the Warcraft universe?

In the end, the names felt less like titles he had chosen and more like names were discovered.

Menou (also known as iwamaki) is a Japan-based DJ and live performer, exploring the deep territories of drone and ambient techno.

She began her DJ career in 2015 and performed at Tokyo’s pioneering streaming platform DOMMUNE in 2017. Since then, she has played at various venues across Tokyo including Vent, sound space α, Kagurane, and Soup. In 2019, she began performing live sets under the name Menou.

Internationally, she appeared at the Mostra Festival in Barcelona, Spain (April 2023), and performed at the secret festival Perpendicular (Spain) in May 2023. In June 2025, she played a live set at La Nature Festival in Belgium.

In 2023, she released a collaborative track with Estrato Aurora on the Spanish label Frequencia Introspectiva, followed by a series of solo releases. In October 2024, she released a solo EP on the Helsinki-based label Affine Dark Science. The record represents a new chapter in her sonic evolution, combining dark experimental soundscapes with detailed sound design. That same month, she performed a DJ set at Audio Base Camp #3 held at YCAM in Yamaguchi, Japan.

Her approach to both DJing and live performance is centered around creating a deep drone journey. By layering subtle textures, she constructs immersive soundscapes where listeners can tune into slow, evolving changes in sound.

Naarm/Melbourne based emerging electronic music producer, TURISM, draws from diverse sources of inspiration to create entrancing, genre-blurring, and unconventional sonics rooted in IDM, left-field techno, and experimental bass. TURISM aims to create otherworldly soundscapes marked by a love for textured, hypnotic sound design and deep, immersive atmospheres that are equally suited for both introspective solo listening and enveloping club environments. Here we go - the next FlowCast! This intentional selection is a reflection of ValaV’s curiosity about structures, movement, and the states of mind that music can create, tracing the tension between order and chaos. Some tracks seem to carry their own inner journey, taking him from stillness into an elevated, almost weightless state of mind where everything is constantly shifting and transforming. Nothing remains static; every element is in motion, finding new forms within the structure. It is a journey between stillness and intensity, control and surrender, structure and chaos.

Samuel Kok is a DJ, producer, and party organiser from Leipzig, Germany. Through the events they organise and the music they produce and select, their goal is to curate and create immersive, intense sonic journeys. Their vision is heavily inspired by a network of dedicated people from different yet interconnected international scenes. Genre-wise, they describe their sound as a descendant of deep tekno, forest psy, and hypnotic techno.
