Our recent visit to the National Arts Center Tokyo made us see the Pablo Picasso exhibition curated by celebrated British designer Paul Smith.

By merging Picasso's raw, boundary-pushing masterpieces with Smith’s vibrant, eclectic design language, the exhibition reimagined how we view art history. Every room offered an inspiring perspective, highlighting Picasso's legendary career.

A masterclass in both curation and expression.

Every item has a past, but it doesn’t have to end there.
The Little Vintage Shop ( @thelittle_vintageshop ) is where pre-loved, designer, and vintage finds get a second chapter.

Alongside the racks, you’ll find reworked pieces by Zonta ( @zontamakatiandenvirons ) member Frannie Manotoc under her upcycled lines, Estela Enchanted ( @estelaenchanted ) and Upcycled by TLVS ( @upcycledbytlvs . An oversized barong becomes a dress lined with leftover saree and kimono fabric.

Prices are mid-range, so there’s something for everyone.

And the best part? Proceeds fund psychological care for girls and women who have survived sexual assault and abuse.

A NEW RECORD FOR VIETNAMESE ART 🇻🇳

Last week at Sotheby's Hong Kong, Vũ Cao Đàm's "Conversation d'élégantes au jardin" (1939) — five elegant ladies in áo dài, ink and gouache on silk — sold for HK$28,960,000 (US$3,764,800) after fourteen bids. It is now the highest price ever paid for a work by a Vietnamese artist.

Vũ Cao Đàm (1908–2000) was among the first generation of the École des Beaux-Arts de l'Indochine. He lived and worked in Paris for decades, and alongside Lê Phổ, Mai Trung Thứ and Lê Thị Lựu, he is one of Vietnam's most celebrated modern artists — turning an ancient Asian medium into a modern vision of Vietnamese identity.

To all the kids whose parents saved artwork, or brought originals back from artisans no longer with us — this one's for you. Makes you wonder what's hanging on your parents' wall. Treasure your culture, and the hands that made it. 🤍

A rabbit-headed guardian, two meters tall, cast in white bronze.
Johnny Depp’s first-ever sculpture, The Bunnyman (2026), made its public debut at Contemporary Istanbul. It stood at Tersane Istanbul, the old Ottoman shipyard on the Golden Horn, as a special project of the Sigg Art Foundation.
The figure began with a scribble by Depp’s son, Jack, which brought back a recurring childhood dream of a faceless figure at the top of the basement stairs. Years later, that dream stands in bronze, cast in Milan by the lost-wax method once favored by Giacometti and Marino Marini.
