Surgery #3
Injury is hard to explain because it’s more than just the physical aspect. There’s a lot of depth that comes with it, regardless who you are. Yesterday I had one final surgery (šŸ¤žšŸ»šŸ¤žšŸ») on my ankle I injured almost five years ago.

I’ve been reflecting on ways to explain the depth of what so many people experience, & think of it like being a kid trying to carry every grocery bag inside in one trip. One bag holds identity, another confidence, body image, anxiety, joy, routine, expectations, purpose. They’re all groceries, they’re different, but they belong to the same person & eventually are all going into the same house. So you convince yourself you can carry it.

In my opinion, injury can be the bag you pick up that finally breaks and makes you drop everything. The bags hit the floor and suddenly things that were always interconnected, apart of who you are, are mixed together but weren’t supposed to come together like this. It’s not about pretending the groceries never fell. It’s taking the time to understand what’s on the floor & clean up the broken pieces or even the pieces that didn’t break. At your own pace or with help to make the floor become safe to walk again. It isn’t easy. If it were, everyone would do it. But I believe it’s worth taking the time to: Explore. Reflect. Empower. It has helped me get to where I am today along with other supports.

My driving force behind Elevate All is not having all the answers, it’s doing everything I can to help people not reach a place where they believe they can’t move forward, pick up the parts of yourself, or elevate into a new version of you.

Life will inevitably change, but we can continue learning how to elevate with it. 🩵

There are many avenues to explore when it comes to this topic. But today, I simply want to acknowledge what it can feel like to live with it.

Chronic pain can change the way you move through the world, the conversations you have with yourself, and even the way you begin to see who you are. When pain persists, the brain may become more protective, changing the way we move, think, & even interpret everyday experiences.

Circumstances have the power to shape us, but they don’t have to have the authority to define us. Protecting/Building the relationship we have with ourselves goes hand in hand with caring for the body that we have. 🩵 by @_elevateall

Been a busy couple of months!! With my Master’s in Mental Health Counseling completed, I’m excited to be starting the Organizational Community & Leadership PhD program at OU Tulsa this fall. šŸ«¶šŸ»

Athletics taught me the power of movement & discipline, but also how easy it can be to lose connection with yourself, your body, and others along the way. A truth that extends far beyond athletics, yet deserves greater acknowledgment within it. My journey, alongside the journeys of many others, has sparked a deeper curiosity about how our relationship with the mind and body, leadership, identity, and human connection influence the experiences of youth, athletes, coaches, and those learning to navigate a new role, season, or reality in life.

God’s timing is everything. Regardless of one’s beliefs, there are moments in life that remind us something greater is at work than what we can see. With that, a huge part of who I am stems from @effectiveteachinglearning . Learning from my dad and those who have shaped me has been the greatest gift. The best is yet to come.🩵 by @_elevateall

Elevation is possible. Always. šŸ©µāœØšŸ€

This time last year, I was facing the reality that I had been living with chronic pain for over a year & that back surgery was my next step toward recovery. The thought of another surgery at such a young age scared me in more ways than one.

Few people know the behind-the-scenes of how difficult these seasons were, both mentally and physically. But this year, on my 26th birthday, I got to move my body with no fear. I felt the strongest I have in a long time since my ankle surgery in 2022 and back surgery in 2025.

I have always been a firm believer that, as humans, we need and deserve a strong foundation within ourselves. In my case, and in the lives of many others, when my identity as an athlete and someone who has always been active was stripped away, I was forced to meet myself with a new level of vulnerability: ā€œWho am I if this gets taken away from me today?ā€

It’s a scary and disorienting question, yet also a deeply beautiful one, no matter what stage of life you’re in. Because within that question lies the invitation for necessary exploration, reflection, and the opportunity to build a sense of self that is rooted in true admiration and awareness for your mind, body, and the world around you. It’s never easy, but its complexity will ultimately allow you to bring out the best in yourself and others if you invite it in with grace and discipline.

God has a funny way of showing you what you need, when you need it, and teaching you the patience it takes to get there. I am beyond thankful for my health, all the intricate parts that come with it, and every single person supporting me on the way. 26 is going to be a big year and I cannot wait to share it with you all! The best is yet to come. 🩵

Turned some material into poetry. šŸ’Œ

The process of self-love looks different for everyone & I believe it goes beyond the surface-level of ā€œjust being kind to yourselfā€. It involves mental, physical, emotional, & even spiritual aspects. Having a deep relationship with yourself doesn’t remove life’s challenges. However, a universal truth is: It invites you to explore what a strong foundation can look like, despite what life throws your way. 🩵 #elevateall #explorereflectempower #selflove by @_elevateall

Life is a continuous learning process. I don’t hold all the answers, nor do I want to. Empowerment involves listening to lived realities with a level of respect, even when perspectives differ. 🩵 by @_elevateall

With holidays approaching it can be easy to tuck grief away, but I invite you to honor your grief. Viewing it as an act of strength and part of caring for the whole self: mind, body, & spirt. 🩵 by @_elevateall
