to the man who wasn’t just my grandpa, but also my best friend and biggest supporter. you had the kindest heart, the smartest mind, and the most gentle soul. your laugh, your patience, and the way you loved everyone around you, is something i’ll never forget.

you were always my safe place and loosing you is the hardest thing i’ve ever had to go through. you taught me so much from taking the training wheels off my bike, teaching me how to swim, and sitting on the floor playing card games and letting me win every time. thank you for wiping my tears, for being there on my worst days, and for loving me through it all. it breaks my heart that i can’t walk across the hall and lay with you anymore, but i know you’re finally at peace and not in pain. you were the best grandfather anyone could ever ask for, and i was so lucky to have you. you changed so many lives just by being you.

i’ll carry you with me every day, and i promise to make you proud. i love you today, tomorrow, and forever.
