I don’t think I could ever get tired of a “water and trees” view. This weekend I was able to tick off a park I’ve been wanting to visit for a few years now. Needless to say: Algonquin, I will be back!!

Moose tracks, orchids, snakes, an incredible beaver dam…this park has almost 3000 square miles of beautiful habitat and I’m going to have to come back for more wildlife spotting.

The hero of the day is the wonderful Alyssa for taking me on such a beautiful adventure taken in Algonquin Park, Ontario by @_ellaoutside_

I’ve been awful at remembering to post, so here is a collection of pretty places from the last few months. The need to be outside has been STRONG with deadline season upon us.

Any guesses for locations??

Last week saw a residential trip to @sandwichbirdobs with @dice.kent .
A great 24hrs, completing bird surveys and ringing, moth and bat surveys and collecting some field data.

Oh and I finally learned how to use binoculars…it’s not as easy as it seems okay?! 🤣

Some great experience - thanks to Dr Jake Bicknell and the team for organising!

Desperately needed some more green on my feed!

Enjoy the beautiful moody woodland that is West Blean and Thornden Woods. Took a trip up recently to have a look at the Wilder Blean project. Didn't catch a glimpse of the Bison but did see the iron age pigs! Rewilding is happening in so many places and in so many ways globally. This is such an exciting project to have on your doorstep. 🦬🐴🐗🌳 taken in West Blean & Thornden Woods by @_ellaoutside_

It’s been a while!

Figured it was time to update this account, as I’m doing a little less campaigning nowadays.

Most of my time is spent studenting right now, and getting to do really cool stuff like surveying great crested newts (pictured above and handled under license). But I’m still super passionate about youth engagement and coproduction.
This week I was lucky enough to take part in a panel with Unloc, Verizon and Juniper Networks, talking sustainability and young people.

Anyway, a slight change of pace and tone on this account but still incredibly passionate. Next step….community-centred conservation?? by @_ellaoutside_

I was given the chance to contribute to a piece for the Local Government Association’s magasine, ‘First’, last month.

A great opportunity to share some things we’ve picked up on through our MH and Wellbeing pillar, as a youth parliament team 🧠

This week we took to Parliament as part of @one UK’s #EndThePandemic #VaccineEquity campaign.

We met #HealthHeroes and lobbied MPs to urge the PM and Foreign Secretary to do much more to ensure equitable access to vaccines in low-income countries.
