Being Jack’s mom has been the biggest (and most important) learning curve of my life.

Some things have come instinctively, and much of it I’ve had to learn along the way. How to soothe him, support him, keep him healthy, and most importantly, keep him safe.

Safe sleep was one of those things. Room sharing, but not bed sharing. A snug swaddle. The right room temperature. Alone, on his back, & nothing in bassinet/crib.

It’s amazing how much there is to learn when you’re suddenly responsible for a tiny little person.

Getting safe sleep “wrong” was not something I was willing to gamble! I’m thankful I took the time I get it “right.”

8mos pregnant. This entire experience has felt almost psychedelic. Of another Universe. Like opening a portal to an internal world. I’m proud of myself for surrendering to it all. Growing this little soul has been unforgettable. by @_emiller
