I’ve gone back and forth on whether I should share this, but I’ve always been very open about the things I’ve experienced.

The first time I ever told a friend my story, she started crying. She told me she had never told anyone before, but she had also been abused. That was the moment I realized this wasn’t a secret I needed to carry alone.

Over the years, I’ve shared my story many times. And, heartbreakingly, there have been more occasions than I can count where someone has come back to me days, months, or even years later and told me that hearing my story gave them the courage to speak about their own.

That is why I will continue to speak about it.

Because this is unfortunately not just my story.
It’s a story that so many women carry quietly.

We should never be ashamed of something someone else chose to do to us.

So I’ll keep talking. I’ll keep sharing. And I’ll keep reminding anyone who needs to hear it that you are not alone, and it was never your fault.

I’ll never take for granted the trust my brides put in me, especially when they’re travelling all the way from the UK! To have someone see my work and say “that’s who I want for my wedding day” without being able to do a trial is the biggest compliment 🥹🤍
