WEKFEST. A tour recap :

LA, It wasn’t just a show but a culmination of what has been an incredible summer.

From the Bay, to the PNW, to LA — this car has taken us on one hell of a journey.

At RSP we set out to build our first restomod with no compromises.

San Jose was our debut. The car was still being aligned on the morning of roll-in, and by the afternoon we’d suffered an expansion tank failure. We came away though with our first award.

Back in OC whilst finishing the car the unimaginable happened - the engine catastrophically failed.

Root cause points to a previous bearing failure which left debris most likely in the oil pump ultimately taking the Engine out with it. The timing was devastating.

The tour was headed to Seattle. We’d already committed to attend but now had an ornament of a car.

With no time to replace the engine we had a choice — stay home, fix it for the next one, or take the car anyway.

So we went. The level in the PNW astonished us. Incredibly, we came away with our second award.

For LA, there was only one goal: Drive a finished car into the show.

A complete donor M3 gave us our new powertrain. The engine had sat for over six years and, despite only 92k miles, was in terrible condition.

So we rebuilt it.

Engine, trans and every component inspected, restored and refinished. Nothing left untouched and everything Cerakoted.

Our friends at CSF invited us to display alongside some of the best BMWs in the country, so we pushed the car further and smoothed our core support and nose panel painting them just in time.

After all this, LA turned up! The level this year obliterated last. The judges without doubt had a torrid time. To our absolute amazement, we took our third award.

BEST EUROPEAN OF THE FESTIVAL. SJ - SEA - LA

Three shows. Three Best European awards.

These trophies represent much more than just an award.

The failures. The setbacks. The late nights. The money. And the decision, every time, to keep going. This is what RSP is.

From barely making the first show… to Best European in the West.

This means everything. taken in Los Angeles, California by @_encorecollective

WHAT. A. WEEKEND.

One for the books, for sure; from seeing my @_encorecollective family, to hanging out with my bro Will (@its_lagunasecablue_bruh) and ultimately, meeting the man behind Moontech/Concourse- Hikaru San. @moontech.jp @concourse_ig

And finally, to the @wekfest_usa team- thank you for all the hard work putting up yet another amazing event and bringing the car community together again under one roof. I can’t even imagine what it takes to make something at this scale happen.

Dedicated team post to follow. taken in Los Angeles, California by @_encorecollective
