RIP Heidi ❤️

Thank you for 12 beautiful years of unconditional love, loyalty, and memories, adventure and who has more fun.

You were so much more than a dog to Christine and me. You were our family, our constant companion, and such a special part of our lives and Our Nest.

We will miss you more than words can say.

Run free, sweet girl. 🐾❤️

🎂❤️ An Early Birthday Dinner for Christine ❤️🎂

Christine’s birthday isn’t until Monday, but tonight Heidi and I decided she shouldn’t have to wait.

We surprised her with a special lakeside dinner right here at Our Nest. We flipped the canoe over and turned it into our dinner table, with the lake as our backdrop, the firepit nearby, and the three of us together enjoying a beautiful evening.

Nothing fancy. Just good food, a beautiful lake, our favourite girl, and our favourite place. ❤️

Happy early birthday, Christine. Life at Our Nest with you and Heidi is pretty damn special. 🥰

⚠️ Sensitive Material — Turtle Injury
This was my 17th turtle rescue this year. 🐢💚
Sadly, this little one was hit by a car was still moving and keeping its head up, I had to carefully transport it to the Ontario Turtle Conservation Centre in Peterborough, where they could provide the specialized care it needed.
The Ontario Turtle Conservation Centre has taken in an incredible 2,240 turtles so far this year. Their work is truly amazing, and I’m grateful I could help get this turtle to them.
Please slow down and watch for turtles crossing the road, especially during turtle season. Every turtle matters. 🐢❤️
Drive carefully. Give turtles a chance to cross safely.
