Chasing Adonis
Directed by Tom Gordon

Chasing Adonis follows Danny, an actor whose rejection for not having “the right look” feeds an increasingly destructive obsession with changing his body.
As he follows the extreme fitness routines promoted by a social media influencer, his relationships, health and sense of self begin to deteriorate. Even when he reaches the physique and career milestone he thought he wanted, the dissatisfaction remains.
The film focuses on muscle dysmorphia, male body image and the pressure created by social media, fitness culture and ideas of physical perfection.
Director Tom Gordon approaches the subject from a personal interest in body dysmorphia and the difficulty many men have in recognising or discussing it.
