@_fka_allesterne_ findet, Graz habe mehr mit Berlin gemeinsam als mit Wien, Regieführen sei ein bisschen wie Bergführen und ein gutes Zitat dürfe ruhig ein bisschen pubertär sein.

Wir sind mit dem Grazer Regisseur an ein paar seiner Lieblingsorte abgehangen, haben über Bauchgefühle gesprochen, die irgendwann Förderanträge werden müssen, über kulturelle Hierarchien und ihre Auflösung, die Ökonomie des Filmemachens – und über Graz als erstaunlich unprovinzielle Provinz.

Dings Crazy Times: @elke_winkens and @julia.drack won the austrian film award for their work on @howtobenormal_film. Words simply can‘t describe how moved i was by your speeches, how much this means to me.. i feel so lucky to have shared this intense and beautyful journey with youu😍😍

So here are some random favorite memories from the past:

1. elke slaying the award ceremony

Hey.
Had the chance to curate 3 programms togehter with @kinovodclub Two focus on work i did in music…

1. the worldpremiere of a visual game i secretly but also publically played over the course of 5 years togehter with @wandamusik, @bilderbuchmusik, @ignaz.k and @yuknotheband

2. starts with the re-release of the first ever festival-shortfilm i did with 15 to the music of Aphex twin, and highlights some collabrations i did in the last 20 years (uff). And It also tells the story of how i then had a reallife encounter with my childhood heroes…

3. Is me making some overdue love confessions while trying to draw a line between 10 of my favorite austrian film-artists.

London based @yesandnomag
made a 2 volume issue about austrian film culture.
The living legend @brigittelacombe portrayed us.

Find Grisseman talking about the tragic loss of Glawogger, Weerasethakul about the magic of tscherkassky, Haneke about au hazard de baltazar (of course), hösl drinking coffe with franz and @bianca.jasmina.rauch piecing basically the whole history together… and many many more beautifull gems…

I contributed a (true) shortstory on how lana wachowski startet to suddenly appear everywhere i went while i was writing my own quirky little adaptation of the matrix… turns out she was my berlin door to door neighbor
(I think thats the kind of synchronicity tykwer and the sisters were allways talking about hihi)

Super pround to be a part of this project, available now via @filminstitut! (and selected bookstores) Thanks for making this happen 🌸🌹🌸

Florian Pochlatko

Vom 26.-28. März wird der Regisseur und Drehbuchautor des diesjährigen Diagonale-Eröffnungsfilms How to Be Normal and the Oddness of the Other World unseren Instagram-Account übernehmen und Behind the Scenes-Material zeigen sowie seine Diagonale-Zeit dokumentieren.

Der österreichische Autor, Regisseur und Editor studierte zuerst experimentelle Medienkunst, anschließend Regie bei Michael Haneke an der Filmakademie Wien und absolvierte ein Masterstudium in Critical Studies bei Diedrich Diederichsen an der Akademie der bildenden Künste in Wien. Sein Kurzfilm Erdbeerland gewann mehrere Preise. Nachdem er einige Jahre als Visual-Identity-Designer für Musiker*innen und als Kurator für verschiedene Kulturinstitutionen tätig war, kehrt er mit seinem ersten abendfüllenden Spielfilm zu seinen Wurzeln zurück.
