I was walking around and saw this unravel in front of me and thought to myself. Every time I come back home where I ran around as a kid. I’m instantly reminded how unique Los Angeles truly is. It is a melting pot of cultures and ethnicities. You hardly hear a word of English at times and it’s easy to forget your in Ca. To the Asians that still own the corner liquor store that been robbed countless times, to the same eloti/paletero man walking around the same 6 blocks, to the Jackson who still has the same appliance store that hasn’t changed since the ’90s. You still have active gang members patrolling the block in their G-rides with their creased-up khaki pants, tattoos showing what hood their from and flannel shirts. They hate outsiders and they are quick with it to whoever challenges their “turf rules” of the hood. And don’t forget about the random raids and unauthorized searches by the great Los Angeles Police department. Always pressing on the people. To me, LA is so raw, dangerous, and beautiful. My world of East Los Angeles will never be obscure to me. It will never die in my eyes, this is why I call it home. . . . taken in Boyle Heights, Los Angeles by @_flaquito86_
