We are very transparent with Harleigh about her ASD, and she’s always eager to learn more about herself. We encourage those conversations because understanding leads to confidence in our opinion.

Me and Dee do our best rendition of non-bias parenting for our girls…But there are times when we have to acknowledge Harleigh’s autism and meet her where she is…with patience, grace, and love.

Every child on the spectrum is different, so we’ll never compare our journey to anyone else’s. We’re thankful for how independent Harleigh is, but there are still moments that remind us this journey has its own unique challenges.

For those moments, we do the best we can. And sometimes, our very best is simply to ask for guidance through prayer.
