this is what i mean when i call concerts “going to church.” it’s is a transcendent experience to lose yourself in a beautiful song created from the heart of another human being, in a sea of strangers all enjoying the same art together.

it’s really the simple things that make us purely human at our greatest potential - the act of creation, sharing love and joy with each other and the world in this bubble of unity. our souls crave this feeling of oneness, bound by love

it really can be so simple, but society decided to create bullshit structures to keep us isolated, divided, focused on the wrong priorities, stuck in a rat race in perpetual survival mode.

humans are not here to generate profits for the shareholders! we’re here to EXPERIENCE and live life with each other, create art, dance together, discuss ideas, explore our humanity

art is so powerful. artistic creation is the best of humanity. don’t lose sight of the true meaning of life by @_futurehippie

🌱 sustainable things i did this week 🌱

kept my grocery cart alllmost totally plastic free:
🍋‍🟩using cotton bags for produce and bulk items (nuts, snacks, spices, etc)
🍋‍🟩opting for metal, glass, or cardboard containers versus plastic or styrofoam
🍋‍🟩asking for my salmon to be wrapped in paper instead of plastic
🍋‍🟩opting for unpackaged greens

a plastic-free shopping cart is GORG and chic and mogs all the other carts btw

get your reusable produce & bulk bags 15% off using my @zerowastestore link in bio!

composted all food scraps 🥒

FYI: when food waste ends up in a landfill, it breaks down without oxygen and releases methane (very potent greenhouse gas)
when food scraps are composted, they break down with oxygen and become nutrient-rich soil that can help grow new plants

in case u were wondering!

silicone baking sheet to replace disposable foil or wax paper

beeswax wrap to replace plastic cling wrap

plastic-free refill of my @huppy toothpaste tablets 🫧

composted my old @discoversuri toothbrush head 💯

brought my own mug to the coffee shop

i feel like we hear a lot of scientific lingo in the media but there’s still a disconnect on what it actually means.

i’ve heard so many people (rightfully) confused on why 1.5 or 2 degrees of warming is that big of a deal?
hopefully this little explainer helps.

our media is fundamentally failing us on so many levels, but one of the most unforgivable failings is its inability to discuss the climate crisis we face.

this UN report should be every headline, should spur a flurry of renewed global action. but our systems are broken, so it wasn’t even a blip on the radar.

i never want this page to be about doom and gloom, but rather positive ways we can live a good life and create a good future. but sometimes it’s important for us to understand the realities we’re living in.

this is not normal. we are in an emergency. it’s scary and overwhelming and hard to wrap our heads around it but we can’t simply look away.

awareness is the first step to change.

our actions shape the future, and we as individuals are so much more powerful than we think to shape our society. find the solutions that work for you and do what you can 🌱

a sacred spring in a thousand year old temple

a cleansing & a blessing

in reverence to this ancient ritual, in awe of a culture where the sacred is interwoven seamlessly into the mundane

what would the world look like if every action was a ritual, our daily lives an offering to spirit?

✨respect the locals, gratitude to the land, bring good energy and gratitude to all✨

staying low waste while traveling internationally is borderline impossible, but with the right prep and intention you can limit your impact and leave every place better than you found it

eco conscious travel also goes beyond just staying low waste - it’s supporting local businesses, educating yourself & supporting their culture, and opening your mind to new experiences & connections with people from all walks of life

traveling is one of the most rewarding experiences we can have, especially when done with mindfulness and respect 🙏🏼

in mindfulness we always talk about being present in each moment. in the here and now.

but what if it was your last day on earth? the last sunset you’ll ever see? how would you react? i would *savor* it with every cell of my body

in my mindfulness practice, savoring the moment goes so much deeper than just trying to be present. it feels like a full immersion, a joyous oneness with the experience

savoring every sunset, immersed in gratitude
