Weddings and funerals, heartaches and love affairs. Drama, dreams, secret hopes and hopeful secrets. Cross country moves, college degrees, ghost hunting, game show vacations, sickness, health, and everything in between. The one constant in my life for more than 25 years has been this incredible woman. I don’t know what I’d do without her, and I hope I never have to find out. Happy birthday, Maggie! Here’s to another lifetime of late night texts when we’re the only ones awake, setting reminders for each other, and a million reels in my inbox. I love you so much. by @_galactic_starchild_

In 2026, I hope you are as fierce as the Senator and her Jedi guard.

Thank you @horrornightsorl for an incredible season. And a special thanks to the #Galkn and #HatchetAndChains houses, my two favs that I went through at least a dozen times each. And of course thank you @dreamfinder815 for matching my energy and chaos. #TeamSkelly forever. Ok I’m posting this at 3 am from the parking garage and I feel like I need to sleep for a week. #hhn34 taken in Halloween Horror Nights - Universal Orlando by @_galactic_starchild_

Thank the stars for @areilly76 because without him I’d have nearly zero photo (and none that aren’t selfies) from @halcy_con. Thank you for your services, sir! by @_galactic_starchild_

Astra, Burgundy 41 - @_galactic_starchild_

*************

Astra wields questions like a saber: with such precision that you don’t even realize you’ve been cut until long after she’s gained the upper hand. The child of a shady Chandrillian antiquarian with aspirations, she was educated on Coruscant with the galactic elite. It was there she was radicalized after witnessing first hand how power corrupts. Her mother’s less-than-honest dealings introduced her to an entirely different kind of crowd, so she’s as comfortable in an outer rim cantina as she is at a society gala. The game really isn’t all that different.

Astra always knows the right thing to ask. Even after a brief encounter, you feel understood in a way you never have before. Which is how, 10 minutes into meeting her, you find yourself sharing something so deeply personal that hours later you wonder “Can I trust her?” And you can — as long as you continue to do favors when she contacts you. She won’t tell your secrets, but she sure will use them to her advantage.

And yet somehow you leave every conversation feeling — not exactly good — but like someone really knows that you exist in this expansive universe. So even though you‘ve told yourself over and over to play your cards close to your chest you can’t seem to stop showing your hand as soon as she smiles sympathetically, eyes crinkling with warmth and understanding. How is it that she seems to just get you? And how is it that you didn’t even get her last name? Or her profession? Or…anything about her? Next time you’ll keep things to yourself. Next time, you’re sure.

If you love Star Wars cosplay, prop painting, costume styling, original characters, and even batuu bounding, then you've found the right place.

I dress like I'm in Star Wars every day and love helping people build their OCs. If you ever need a second pair of eyes on something or just have questions about how I style a costume, feel free to ask in the comments. by @_galactic_starchild_

If there were Jedi sitcoms on the HoloNet, this would be the image they freeze frame on at the end of the episode and roll the credits over.

Tune in every #batuuesday, 9/8 Central.

Lyss has cancer. In fact, they’ve had it for nearly a decade. But it recently got an upgrade from stage 1 to stage 3 and their medical expenses have skyrocketed. Lyss is one of my closest friends and also an important part of the Starcruiser community. Please support their @gofundme to help them get through this awful time.
