I had the option of sending in the @rockshox Vivid for warranty but what’s the fun in that? Regardless they were kind enough to offer everything necessary to take care of it myself. After talking to some of the @sram people and explaining my situation, I learned that in addition to the 100+ hours of riding, it’s possible that the turbo levo linkage could have led to the cavitation. Since the levo has the shock mounted to a yoke before it reaches the pivot, it receives forces that are multiplied due to the added leverage. Specifically side to side loads that bend the shock in the middle. I think it’s interesting to note how important a symbiotic relation between bike and suspension brands are because this seems like something the industry would address to avoid further down the line. I think my situation here is very circumstantial and doesn’t represent all the other bikes this shock will go on. This shock is rad.

Anyway, here’s a vivid service video. This took 8 hours from beginning to end. Servicing to editing. I don’t know how you video guys do it.

Have been seeing a lot more XC bikes through the doors lately and it’s a nice addition to the usual roster. Pedal efficiency is huge in the XC world and fresh suspension allows you to have the most amount of pedal platform without added harshness on the trail. Stoked to work on more of these 🤌🏻

@rockshox 2027 Vivid Coil new vs outgoing 2025 Vivid Coil. No marketing hype, just my thoughts based on feeling alone. Rode today at Graham Hills until the battery died and quickly made this video while it was fresh on my mind and I was still working out my thoughts.

Long story short, the new Vivid coil adds support where the previous generation lacked all while maintaining suppleness and traction. A change that it much needed. Also, the compression adjustments LSC/HSC feel like they are in a much more usable range. Keep in mind that if you run a very soft front setup like wide open hsc or low psi, you might feel that the rear is noticeably firmer. Sounds like this shock will benefit from the firmer tunes coming out of the charger 3.2 forks.

Idk how influencers make videos, talking on camera is so damn hard. Bare with me. by @_gearwork
