Turning 45 this November, and God knows it’s not lost on me how special that is. There was a time I was given months to live ~ but God had the final say.

The ish I went through that nobody ever really knew about ~ I carried a lot of it quietly. Smiled through seasons I was breaking in. Comforted myself when nobody else could.

This year is really special to me because around my birthday:

3 years cancer free. 2 years alcohol free. And just a few months ago, I had a tumor removed ~ one more thing I walked through without making noise about it.

Somewhere in all of that, it made me more aware. Aware of the pain people carry behind their smile. Aware of what it really takes to keep going. Aware of my own strength, in ways I never would’ve known otherwise.

I don’t look at those years as just hard anymore. I look at them as proof.

45 isn’t just a birthday to me this year. It’s a testimony.

If you’re carrying something silent right now ~ keep going. It’s shaping you too. 🙏🏽

Halfway through the year and I’m just… grateful. 🙏🏽

Not because everything’s been easy ~ because it hasn’t. But because I can look back and see God’s hand in every closed door, every “wait,” every unexpected yes.

I don’t know exactly what the next six months hold. But I know this: the same God who brought me from where I started isn’t done writing this story. He’s been positioning me. Preparing me. Growing me in the quiet before the increase.

So today I’m not stressing about what’s next. I’m just saying thank you for what’s already been done ~ and getting ready to walk boldly into what’s coming.
