A little self-reflection & appreciation post.🤍💐

I remember affirming the lyrics of this song when the year started. I told myself I was ready to push myself—to do the things I love, scared or not. To LIVE while figuring out life, purpose, and everything in between.

And I have.

I’ve taken bold steps, tried to walk with akonuche (wisdom), intentionally left shame behind, remained stubborn for the right reasons, chosen myself, let go of weights that easily beset me, loved with boundaries, and kept building, praying and hoping.

Boy, oh boy… I have really tried. And I’m still trying.

It hasn’t been easy. There have been sacrifices, disappointments, detours and moments where I questioned myself. I may not have accomplished everything I wrote down at the beginning of the year, but looking back, I can see just how much I’ve grown and how hard I’ve fought for myself.

I hear “well done” quite often, and you know why?

Because I tell myself.

Only I know the full weight of everything I’ve experienced, overcome and carried while still choosing to stand. So, I’ll give myself my flowers whenever I need them. I’ll celebrate the small wins, acknowledge the growth and remind myself that I’m doing better than I sometimes think.

So yes, I’m deeply proud of the woman in these pictures.

And I truly, truly love her.

Here’s to everyone who is still figuring it out, still becoming, still trying.
