This year, my amazing Mumma will have been gone from my life longer than she was in it — a fact that truly breaks my heart.

Anyone who’s lost someone special (human or animal) knows the kind of hole it leaves and how life is never quite the same.

Losing Mum to bowel cancer totally changed my life forever, in ways I didn’t even realise until years later (thank you therapy) Mumma Cox was an incredible woman, and we had the most beautiful bond. She was fiercely loyal, independent, creative, and full of colour — a wizard in the kitchen and on the sewing machine. She had a sharp wit, a generous heart, and cared for people so deeply. She went through so much, but still found ways to laugh until her face turned red.

To celebrate her, and to remind myself to keep going, I’m running the London Marathon on my birthday. @macmillancancer were such a huge support when Mum was ill. Our nurse just got it. He explained things in a way that helped me understand what I was feeling, and I’ll never forget that. If you ever find yourself facing cancer and in need of physical, emotional or even financial support, that’s the first place I’d go 💚

A couple of years ago, my ankle surgeon told me I’d never run again. And honestly, in recent weeks, I’ve questioned whether he was right. But in the spirit of Mum (ironically, pictured raising money for cancer herself — something she dedicated years to), I don’t like people telling me I can’t do something, so here we are. I’ll be running every mile for her.

My little Brompton bike 💛

I love our mornings together so much. Saying no to work (and being away) is super scary but getting to spend more mornings cuddled with my potato kangaroo is so worth it.
I think at least 3/4 of my bed is his…

2025 round-up:
Sometimes it’s scary, but it’s still just me and you… 🤍

What a year we’ve had — big highs, tricky lows, and lots of lovely moments in between. We also went on our first protest together! Pixel is so lucky to have two extra Mummas, Funkle Simon, the whippet mamas and @houndsofhackney, who all help me travel the world with my camera 🐾✨

Our big Scotland road trip got cancelled when Pixel dislocated his toebean (0/10 experience), but we still managed lots of weekends away, lots of rest, and lots of recovery snacks. I really hopes this is the year his little paw behaves so we can go on an epic adventure — and get out of London for plenty of hikes 🤞

He struggled with his anxiety this year (as did I) which was hard for both of us, something to work on together in 2026. I love Pixel more than anything and just want him to have the very best life — and I feel that every day 💛

Here’s to another year of sleepy grumbles, blanket obsessions, bum scritches, shoe stealing, and snack thievery 🐶❤️
