There’s something so bittersweet about knowing it’s the last time. The last team yells. The last time we do our makeup together listening to worship music. The last time I put that beautiful (very smelly) maroon shirt on. The last time I walk with my hat can & chaps alongside my best friends. And the last time I stand surrounded, hearing my teammates and the wonderful crowd electrify each arena I’ve ever so graciously gotten to compete in. I couldn’t imagine a better way to see these lasts than surrounded by the people who have forever changed my life and during my first time ever competing directly for a National Championship. To end both SECs and Nationals in the finals & in a tiebreaker is the epitome of nerves and trust and I am still on cloud 9

A piece of my heart will always be in that arena and dedicated to Texas A&M for giving me everything I never knew I needed. Thank you coaches and thank you to every horse that has allowed me to love them more than they’ll ever know💛 in this moment I am so much more that what I could’ve ever imagined and prayed for at 15. I’m not ready to leave yet, so I am beyond excited to be staying for a fifth year to student coach ♡ taken in World Equestrian Center - Ocala by @_gracie.casebolt_

What have I done to deserve a love like this.

That’s the last song I played over the loudspeakers of our arena before we left. It’s one of my favorites, but I felt it so deeply in my bones that day. As the week went by in preparation I just had this gut feeling that I struggled to navigate. I told Mattie, I wasn’t sure if we were losing in the first round or winning the entire damn thing, but it was there & I felt it all. During evals, there were yellow butterflies all around that day and my heart just knew, I love my butterflies and it built so much hope. Our squad listened to our worship music each morning and soaked up every feeling; nerves, gratitude, tension, peace, excitement etc. And then we won semi finals. Saturday morning, the way each and every one of us just engulfed ourselves into each ride was so different. Every single step was felt and every single person poured their heart out. In all honestly, last year was the team I thought was going to go all the way. But this year meant so much to me because not even an ounce of it was easy and we were seeded last. But literally everyday we worked through it and learned to love the horses and eachother all over again. We absolutely adore our horses, we cherish each schools horses, and we just love the damn sport. I love my teammates, with every fiber in my body. The last two years have changed my life. Seeing every camera surround our circle & the final score announced was so surreal & nearly all of us upperclassman fell, we finally did it. Thank you Jesus for everything you’ve done for me, thank you to my incredible coaches, teammates & best friends. Thank you to the whole 12th man and literally every single girl that messaged me or watched from other schools across the country for your immense support. Thank you UGA eq for being great competitors & such good friends. I love how close the whole SEC has gotten. This means so much to me, my senior class, every alum that texted and had too been once so close, and every person present with us in that moment. For the first time in program history, Texas A&M just won the SEC championship. What have I done to deserve a love like this..it is only by the blood💛 taken in Texas A&M University by @_gracie.casebolt_
